Xinjiang belongs to temperate continental climate, characterized by large temperature difference between day and night, and is a typical continental arid climate. Southern Xinjiang is dry, with long sunshine and little rain. The annual precipitation is only 20- 100 mm, while northern Xinjiang100-500 mm. The annual average temperature is 10C- 13C in southern Xinjiang plain, and lower than 10C in northern Xinjiang plain. The extreme maximum temperature in Turpan reaches 48.9℃, and the extreme minimum temperature in Fuyun County reaches -5 1.5℃ ... The frost-free period in southern Xinjiang plain is 200-220 days, and that in northern Xinjiang plain is mostly less than 150 days. Several characteristics of Xinjiang climate: 1. Dry. Xinjiang is located in the center of the mainland, far from the ocean, surrounded by mountains and plateaus. However, the north-south latitude of Xinjiang is about 15 degrees, and the terrain is quite different. There are warm, cold and temperate zones in the south and north of Xinjiang, and the difference between east and west is obvious.
