What kind of weather is suitable for fishing snakeheaded fish?

Snakehead fish, also called black fish stick, is a carnivorous fish and a major pest in the fish farming industry. This kind of fish reproduces and grows quickly and is ferocious. As long as the fishing method is correct, it is very easy to catch. The season for fishing snakeheaded fish is from July to October, both in the morning and in the evening. Dusk is the best time, but it requires no wind or rain. It is also suitable for fishing at noon during a long drought or when the sun is shining. There is a fishing method that has been tested by myself and others and proved to be very effective. It is now introduced to fishing enthusiasts.

1. Fishing tackle

Winding board, 50 meters of fishing line with a diameter of 0.6 mm, Iseni No. 12 or above large hook, and a large sinker of more than 50 grams.

First, wind the fishing line around the line board, and tie a lead pendant at the end of the fishing line. It can be dead or alive. Then tie the fishhook. The diameter of the sub-thread is 0.5 mm and the length is 15 cm. The sub-thread tied with the hook should be tied to the main line above the lead pendant.

The appropriate position on the main line to tie the sub-line depends on the depth of the water. For example, if the water depth is 1 meter, then the sub-line is tied 1.5 meters away from the lead pendant. If the water depth is 1.5 meters, tie it 2 meters away from the lead pendant.

2. Tie bait

After everything is ready, you can set the hook. To achieve "perfect shots", in addition to understanding the conditions of the fish, one must also tie the bait correctly.

Use small frogs as bait. The frog should not be big or small, each segment should be as big as a thumb. It must be noted that the small frog is tied to the hook, not hooked on the hook. Because a frog will die quickly if it is injured by a hook, but it will not be injured if it is tied to a hook and can live for a day on the water. The way to tie the little frog is to use a common thread for clothes (any color will do), make it into two strands, and tie it to the little frog's waist, not too loose or too tight. Tie it and hang it on the hook. In order to prevent the little frog from running away, leave a longer thread end and tie it to the sub-thread of the hook handle.

3. Fishing Methods

Fishing snakeheaded fish requires absolute silence, and you must not walk around the river. To find out whether there are snakehead fish in the nearshore grass, you can first take a walk near the water. If there are fish, there will be movement in the open water part of the aquatic plants (also called grass eyes). Then throw the tied frog into the grass hole. If the frog is not in place, it can be adjusted, or it can be pulled back and re-thrown. However, the number of re-throws should not be too many, so as not to injure the small frogs and damage the water surface environment. The method of throwing the hook is: first pour the fishing line on the winding board and place it on the shore without weeds. Then pinch the main line 5 cm away from the lead pendant with your right hand, and pinch the main line 2 cm above the frog with your left hand. When the right hand throws the line, the left hand releases at the same time. Finally, adjust the position of the frog on the water so that a section of fishing line with the frog attached to it falls on the grass, and the frog floats in the eye of the grass and can swim. Do not let the frog sink underwater to avoid suffocation due to lack of oxygen. The fishing line should be loose, and one end on the shore should be tied and fixed to prevent it from being dragged away by fish. According to this method, multiple hooks can be thrown at the same time without special supervision.

The activity of snakeheaded fish has certain regional characteristics, especially when there are small snakeheaded fish. When the snakehead sinks in a certain grass eye, it will come up to look after the small fish in this grass eye after a while. At this time, the frog is like a black fish in the grass, and it will rush up and bite the frog fiercely. After the snakehead swallows the hook, it turns around and walks away, its tail often making sounds and waves on the water. When the fishing line is pulled straight, there must be fish when the hook is lifted immediately. At this time, the fishhook is not in the fish's mouth, but in the fish's stomach. Just feel free to lift the fish.
