What if an open-air tomato dies in hot weather?

In case of high temperature weather, the old leaves on the lower part of open-air tomatoes can also be properly removed, which can reduce nutrient consumption and increase air release on the premise of ensuring humidity.

1 Tomato is a temperature-sensitive vegetable. Under normal circumstances, the optimum temperature for assimilation is 20-25℃, and the optimum soil temperature for root growth is 20-22℃. Like light, the light saturation point is 70000lx, and the suitable light intensity is 30000-50000lx. It is also a short-day plant, and tomatoes like water. Generally, the soil humidity is 60-80% and the air humidity is 45-50%. The requirements for soil conditions are not strict, and fertile loam with deep soil layer, good drainage and rich organic matter grows well.

2 To prepare nutrient soil according to a certain proportion, the porosity of nutrient soil should be about 60% and the pH should be 6-7. It contains available phosphorus 100mg/kg or more, available potassium 100mg/kg or more, and available nitrogen 150mg/kg, which is loose, fertilizer-and water-retaining, and has comprehensive nutrition. Spread the prepared nutrient soil evenly on the seedbed (thickness 10 cm) or seedling tray.

Cover the soil immediately after sowing, and cover the soil with selected fine soil. The covering thickness is about 0.8- 1.0 cm, and the thickness should be consistent. After sowing, 8 grams of 50% carbendazim wettable powder per square meter of seedbed was mixed with fine soil and sprinkled on the bed surface to prevent seedling damping-off. In winter and spring, seedbeds should be covered with plastic film. In summer and autumn, the bed surface of seedbed should be covered with sunshade net or straw. When 70% of seedlings are covered with soil, the cover should be removed.

Strengthen field management, improve plant disease resistance, water easily in sunny days, and prevent flooding. After irrigation, it is necessary to deflate and dehumidify in time, plant with reasonable density, prune and cut forks in time, and remove the old leaves under the plants.
