What measures are there to strengthen weather monitoring and early warning during the National Day?

On September 29th, China Meteorological Bureau held a national weather consultation meeting during the National Day holiday of 20 17. Representatives from nearly 20 departments including the State Council Emergency Office, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Civil Affairs, Ministry of Land and Resources, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Transport and National Tourism Administration attended the meeting. Representatives from relevant departments of various provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and relevant persons in charge of the Meteorological Bureau attended the meeting by video link. The Central Meteorological Observatory connected with the regional meteorological centers in North China, East China, South China and Southwest China by video, analyzed the national weather situation and possible meteorological disasters from 10 to 1 8, and put forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions. Jiao, deputy director of China Meteorological Bureau, attended the meeting.

It was learned from the Central Meteorological Observatory that during the National Day holiday, the temperature was suitable in most parts of the country, and the meteorological conditions were generally suitable for outdoor activities. There will be two cold air activities in the northern region. Before the holiday, there was heavy rainfall in the eastern Sichuan Basin, Hanshui River Basin, southern Huanghuai, Jianghuai and other places, so it is necessary to pay attention to traffic safety and prevent secondary disasters.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Transport and the National Tourism Administration comprehensively analyzed the tourism traffic situation during the National Day holiday, and the Ministry of Land and Resources and the State Forestry Administration respectively reported the geological disaster prevention and forest fire prevention situation during the National Day holiday.

This year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival are linked together, forming an eight-day "Super Golden Week", and residents are enthusiastic about traveling. According to the forecast of the National Tourism Administration, during the National Day holiday, the number of domestic tourists will reach 7 1 10,000, and the public's demand for meteorological services tends to be more personalized and professional. The Ministry of Transport predicts that during the National Day holiday, the national highway traffic will maintain a high and stable operation, and the traffic flow will increase by more than 10% year-on-year. Compared with the same period of last year, the waterway passenger traffic will increase by about 5.4%, which puts forward higher requirements for meteorological services to ensure public safety. The Ministry of Land and Resources reminded that during the National Day, we should focus on preventing geological disasters caused by rainfall and other factors in Chongqing, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hubei, Yunnan, Guizhou, Gansu and Zhejiang.

During the National Day holiday, the national meteorological department will do a solid job in ensuring holiday meteorological services, strengthen monitoring and forecasting, strengthen the integration of meteorological disaster monitoring and forecasting information with tourism, transportation and other information, improve the pertinence of meteorological services, and do a good job in special meteorological forecasts for various industries; Strengthen the release of meteorological disaster warning information in key places and scenic spots, and dynamically release meteorological disaster warning information and various travel service tips; Strengthen information sharing and linkage with relevant departments, comprehensively judge the risk of meteorological disasters, and coordinate emergency defense.
