Other information about Dayu
Tanegashima and Mamao Island are hilly areas of Tertiary. Kouyongliangbu Island is a volcanic island, belonging to the volcanic belt of Kirishima, with active volcanoes and hot springs. Among the islands, Miyamiya Puyue on Yakushima has the highest monthly elevation (1935m).
The climate of the islands is warm and rainy, and the flat land is frost-free. Vegetation mainly includes cycads, betel nuts and banyan trees. Horticultural agriculture is developed. The offshore catch is very large.
There are regular ships and flights between these islands and Kagoshima.
Historically, these islands belonged to the territory of a legal power. After the abolition of the legal system, it was directly under the Yamato regime and now belongs to Kagoshima Prefecture.
