The mysterious Enshi Grand Canyon, with scenery comparable to Colorado, is known as the most beautiful scar on the earth.

The spectacular scenery of Enshi Grand Canyon in Hubei is comparable to that of Colorado Grand Canyon in the United States. Therefore, some people call it the "China version" of the Grand Canyon.

Enshi Grand Canyon is also a section of Qingjiang Grand Canyon, with a total length of 108km and a total area of more than 300 square kilometers.

We came by car. When I arrived at Enshi Grand Canyon Scenic Area, I saw that the terrain here was very different. The highway was built along the cliff on the side of the mountain, and it took a long time to get down to the end.

The whole Enshi Grand Canyon is divided into Qixingzhai Scenic Area and Yunlong Ground Fissure Scenic Area. Last summer, a rainstorm triggered flash floods and washed away the plank road in the crack of Yunlong. Now Yunlong Scenic Area is closed.

Unfortunately, the cable car is also out of service for maintenance. This time, we can only go to Qixingzhai Scenic Area, and the ticket is overtime 100 yuan.

The visitor center is at the bottom. After walking along the winding road for more than 40 minutes, we came to the gate of Qixingzhai.

Under normal circumstances, we can directly reach the top of Qianshan Mountain in Enshi Grand Canyon from the cable car. You can only walk slowly along the plank road on the cliff.

Enshi Grand Canyon is 1500- 1900 meters above sea level. The whole scenic spot is a karst landscape formed by weathering, denudation and dissolution of Carboniferous rocks.

The weather is fine in the morning, and the hanging plank road under the blue sky is beautiful during the day.

The plank road twists and turns, as if hanging on a cliff, so it is called "hanging plank road".

Standing on the south platform, you can see the village at the foot of the mountain, and the scenery is charming.

The road we are traveling on now is the front mountain of Enshi Grand Canyon, which consists of a small building door, a middle building door and a building door.

Shenxian Peak, Triassic limestone, was formed 203-250 million years ago. The whole stone pillar was originally integrated with the nearby mountains. Because there are transverse cracks and longitudinal cracks in the mountain, the mountain is stripped after weathering and dissolution in the later period, thus forming independent stone pillars.

Legend has it that immortals live on the top of this mountain and often go to the foot of the mountain to help people. The portrait of pine branches is the embodiment of immortals, hence the name "Fairy Peak".

The pine trees at the top of the mountain grow on the precipice, which is strange in shape, and is also called "small welcoming pine" as opposed to the "welcoming pine" at the entrance of the building.

Stone bud maze is a typical karst stone bud (forest) landform, which is a group of protruding stone ridges formed by weathering, denudation and dissolution of Triassic limestone (250-230 million years ago).

The average height of stone buds is about 2m. It ups and downs, scattered and disorderly, different shapes, uneven, like waves, like islands, like snails crawling, like mosquitoes, like dragons entering the sea.

It has just snowed and the ground is covered with snow. I picked up some ice and snow to play with.

Stone bud is a common karst landform on gentle slope rocks in karst areas. The rocky ridges or ridged rock masses formed by the dissolution of surface water along the cracks on the surface of carbonate rocks are called stone buds, so they are named because they are scattered and shuttle through them, such as entering a maze.

The main landform types of limestone in Qian Shan are cliff, stone pillar forest, solitary peak, stone bud (forest), peak forest depression and so on. The pine trees in the scenic spot are lush and beautiful.

Hanging coffins is a burial ceremony of Ba people, the ancestors of Tujia people in Hubei Province, which was formed at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period and has a history of more than 2,000 years.

The hanging cabinet stone here is a karst pictograph, which is the residual stone formed by the erosion and dissolution of Triassic limestone along the joint surface. It is shaped like a hanging coffin, hence its name.

After a long time, this is another natural landscape formed after dissolution. These are natural textbooks on the evolution of the earth.

Standing on the plank road to see the ground fissure in Yunlong, there is an artificial reservoir at the entrance of the ground fissure, and the lake is bright green. Cracks in the ground are like scars on the earth and huge valleys. The mountains are stacked, majestic and steep, thick and distant.

"One wick of incense" is a karst landform wonder, and it is known as one of the 40 most beautiful scenic spots in China.

CCTV's "Approaching Science" column group once made a documentary on this strange stone that has never failed for thousands of years, telling its formation process. Geologically speaking, it is precisely because of the long-term interaction between the Yangtze River and Qingjiang River that today's steep stone pillars have been formed.

"A wick of incense" is a rare single Triassic limestone pillar on the earth, which still stands after many major earthquakes. Because the rock has a high density and there are five peaks around it, the airflow has changed, more like an invisible hand holding it, so it doesn't have to collapse due to wind and rain.

As the treasure of Enshi Grand Canyon. The "Yixiangxiang" stone pillar is as high as150m, and its narrowest section is only 4m in diameter. This is also a fact that similar slender stone pillars are rare on the earth, and the longest and largest are limited to Enshi.

It is recommended to arrange a one-day tour. Starting from Chongqing and coming from lichuan county, we can take National Highway 3 18, and then enter the Grand Canyon scenic spot from the fork in the road.

The highlights of Enshi Grand Canyon Scenic Area are mainly Carboniferous rocks, sinkholes, ground fissures, cliffs, peaks, rock pillars, caves and other geological landscapes.
