The Ebifeng Sightseeing Tower echoes the Wangjianglou and the Yangtze River Bridge in Dongshan. Climbing to the top of the tower, you can see the spectacular scenery of the Yangtze River and the integration of the river and the bridge. At the foot, the majestic Yangtze River and the China No.1 Bridge Tower, 100 meters away, stand tall, pass through the thick suspension cables of two small round desktops, take off the bridge deck of the natural moat, and emerge a "Yunlong" suspended on the vast river, which is magnificent. Look at the banks of Mapingchuan River, the clothes rack forest in the harbor, seagulls gathering, ships shuttling, the Roy survey bridge like a white swan, and the prosperity of the modern riverside port city is even more panoramic.

There is a saying in the international bridge community that the level of a country's bridges depends on the level of its suspension bridges, and the symbol of its advanced technology is span. Building such a super-large bridge with a main span exceeding 1000 meters on the vast Yangtze River has broken the myth that "China can't build a long-span bridge".
Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge is a long-span steel suspension bridge which is "the first in China and the fourth in the world".
Ranked first in the world: Akashi Strait Bridge in Japan, 1998 completed, with a main span of 1.990 m;
Second: Humber Bridge in Denmark, under construction, with a main span of 1 624m;
Third: Hamberg Bridge in England, 198 1 year completed, main span 1, 4 10 meter;
Fourth: Jiangyin Yangtze River Highway Bridge, 1999 completed, main span 1, 385 meters;
Fifth: Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong, 1997 completed, with a main span of 1 377m.
Difficulty Even though there have been successful examples of suspension bridges abroad, due to the unique geological, hydrological and climatic conditions in Jiangyin and Jingjiang areas, foreign experience cannot be completely copied. There are still many technical difficulties in the process of bridge construction, which are briefly described as follows:
North Anchor Caisson-The two anchors of the bridge will pull the main cable of the bridge together, and the pulling force of the main cable is 64,000 tons, while the north anchor is located on the alluvial plain. The plane size of underground open caisson is 69 meters long and 5 1 m wide, with an area as large as 10 basketball courts. If it sinks, it will pass through four different soil layers, which may cause serious skew and torsion.
Erection of main cable-The main cable is the main load-bearing component of Jiangyin Bridge, with a total weight of/kloc-0.8 million tons of steel deck and 5,000 tons of asphalt pavement, as well as live traffic load. There are two main cables of Jiangyin Bridge, weighing 8,400 tons, consisting of 169 strands, each of which weighs 50. The erection of the main cable adopts the precast parallel strand method (PPWS), and the 50-ton, 2200-meter-long steel strand is erected in the air. From traction, stretching, molding to cable adjustment, there are many unforeseen technical difficulties in each link. Moreover, when working high at night, the weather has a great influence, and its erection difficulty is unique in China.
Deck Laying-Laying 5cm thick asphalt concrete on the deck of steel box girder. Because of the strong thermal conductivity of steel box girder, the temperature is very high in summer and very low in winter, it is difficult to give consideration to the characteristics of asphalt. However, the temperature conditions in Jiangyin are worse than those in western countries, ranging from-15℃ to 70℃. There is no precedent. After more than a year of research and experiment, we finally found a scheme that can meet the specific requirements of Jiangyin Bridge and solved this world problem.
