Brief introduction of Haikou crater geological park

Haikou Volcano Geopark is an AAAA-level scenic spot in China and a world geopark, which brings together volcanic culture and tropical ecology thousands of years ago. Volcanic landforms are very rich, which constitutes a geological park with tropical urban culture and volcanic ecological connotation.

There are more than 40 Quaternary volcanoes in the park, with various types, rich lava landscape and strange lava tunnels. Thousands of years ago, volcanoes, thousands of years of volcanic culture and tropical ecological vegetation communities have a unique taste. In recent years, ancient houses, temples, rakes and lockers have been added to the scenic spot, which reflects the production and living utensils in the volcanic area since ancient times, including stone tools, wood products and volcanic stone art. During the tour, you can learn about the ancient volcanic culture and experience the life of the residents in the volcanic area. The commanding heights of Hainan are also in the park, and the air is fresh. When the weather is fine, you can see Qiongzhou Strait.

Recommended routes: Luo Jing Plate, Xianren Cave, Shuangchiling and Maanling.

Geological remains of crater

The main geological remains are Quaternary volcanic groups composed of 40 volcanoes. Volcano types are complete and diverse, covering almost all kinds of volcanoes erupted by Xuanwu volcano. There are more than 30 lava tunnels, the longest of which is over 2000 meters. Their internal forms and landscapes are rich and wonderful, which are rare at home and abroad. There are more than 200 species of ecological community plants/kloc-0 represented by tropical rainforests, such as volcanic cones, craters and basalt platforms. Orchard and volcanic landscape are integrated, which is an outstanding representative of volcanic ecology in tropical cities. There are ancient villages, stone houses, stone towers and various appliances for production and living built by people using basalt for thousands of years in the park, which records the volcanic culture context of people and stones and is a classic of China volcanic culture. The main scenic spots are Ma 'anling, Shuangchiling, Xianren Cave and Luo Jing Plate.

Shuangchiling

This is a bright spot in the park. There are four volcanoes in the scenic spot, namely Lufeng Mountain in the south cone, Baozi Mountain in the north cone and two small parasitic volcanoes called "Volcano Baby". The ridge is two parallel twin volcanoes, and the crater wall is a tuff ring.

Luo

Ma Pan Bait Volcano, Luojing, with an inner diameter of 1000m, has a perfect circular low crater, and its radial and circular stepped pastoral scenery is very pleasant.

The cave is divided into upper and lower sections, with a hole in the lower section. What is puzzling is that there is a day behind the scenes. There are all kinds of lava milk hanging on the rock wall, which seems to fall down. It's amazing. This cave is full of strange rocks and water, and you can hear the clear sound of water drops at any time. Water droplets create different colors on rocks of different shapes and qualities, forming a very beautiful rhythm.

Xiandong

The upper section of Xianren Cave was divided into dozens of lava tunnels at most due to cave collapse. Some of these caves are like interconnected cobwebs; Some are like open-air underground restaurants; Others are like strange castles and palaces. Sunlight shines on the tunnel through the skylight formed by the collapse of the tunnel, making the scenery in the dark tunnel clear and magnificent.

Maanling volcano

It consists of four volcanoes, namely Fengluling crater in the south cone, Baoziling crater in the north cone and two small parasitic volcanoes on the side. They are like a pair of eyes, called eye ridges, and they are called volcano babies. From 65438 to 0996, world tourism day, the main venue of China, was held here and was highly praised by experts and tourism officials from more than 20 countries.
