Detailed introduction of Qing Dongling

Located in zunhua city, Hebei Province, and 125km west of Beijing, the Qing Tombs is the largest imperial mausoleum complex in China, the most complete system and the most appropriate layout. It is the first batch of world cultural heritage in Hebei Province and a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction.

Among the 15 mausoleums covering an area of 8 square kilometers, there are 5 emperors, 15 empresses, 136 concubines, 3 elder brothers and 2 princesses, with 161 people buried. The mausoleum area in the east of Qing Dynasty is 125 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide from north to south, surrounded by mountains on all sides, with Yandun Mountain in the south. It is a valley mouth with a width of only 5 meters, commonly known as Longmenkou.

in the Qing dynasty, 217 palace archways were successively built here, forming 15 cemeteries of different sizes. The cemeteries are arranged at the southern foot of Changrui Mountain with Xiaoling Mausoleum in Shunzhi as the center, and are all composed of palace walls, Long 'en Hall, annex hall, Fangcheng Ming Building and Baoding.

The Ming Building in Fangcheng is the tallest building in all cemeteries, with a stone tablet inscribed with the name of the tomb owner in Chinese, Manchu and Mongolian. Behind the Ming building is the "Baoding" (big tomb), and below it is the "underground palace" where the coffin is parked.

Extended information

Mausoleum pattern of the Qing Dongling:

The Mausoleum of the emperor shunzhi, the first ancestor of the first emperor who entered the customs, is located on the central axis of the main peak from Jinxing Mountain in the south to Changrui Mountain in the north. The other emperors' mausoleums are arranged on both sides of the Mausoleum in a fan-shaped east-west manner according to the traditional concepts of "respecting the center", "orderly aging" and "respecting the humble". According to the regulations, a series of buildings have been built in the tombs, and the overall layout is "front facing and back sleeping".

The left of the Xiaoling Mausoleum is the Jingling of Emperor Kangxi, the holy ancestor, and the second left is the Huiling of Emperor Tongzhi of Mu Zong. On the right of the Xiaoling Mausoleum is the Yuling Mausoleum of Emperor Gaozong Qianlong, and on the second right is the Dingling Mausoleum of Emperor Wenzong Xianfeng, which forms the pattern that children and grandchildren accompany their fathers and grandfathers, and highlights the ethical concept that elders are the most respected.
