Where is Lucheng?

Yunnan Wei Chu

Lucheng, the capital of Wei Chu, is surrounded by mountains and waters, with beautiful scenery, pleasant climate and unique ethnic customs. Since ancient times, it has been known as "the gateway to the provincial wall and the throat of the west". Regarding the origin of Lucheng's name, it was originally evolved from the Yi place name "Red Deer". However, there is a magical story passed down from generation to generation among the people:

A long time ago, there was no city in Lucheng, and there were often four pests in Shan Ye, which destroyed livestock and infringed human life. People call for building an ideal city. For people to live and work in peace and contentment, local officials also plan to build an ideal city. So I invited local elders and celebrities to discuss and decide together. Building a city is in line with the people's hearts and everyone agrees. However, the four exterior lines of the city have different opinions and different plans, so it is impossible to unify opinions. Final decision: leave it to fate and ask the sun god to rule.

If the sun god is asked to make a ruling, a ceremony of offering sacrifices to heaven will be held. On this day, it was still dark, and local officials, elders, celebrities and well-intentioned people gathered at the mountain worship. On the altar mountain and the altar tower, the priests wore swords, stepped and fought, and bowed down. After the three rites, the priest presented the sun god, explaining what he wanted: If it is auspicious, please give him divination. Soon, the East turned pale, and a red sun generate came out. The sun god appeared. The local priest immediately kowtowed to the sun god, offered incense, knocked three times and made nine obeisances. Then the priest muttered to himself, and when he was about to make divination, suddenly a golden light appeared on the flat ground below the mountain, and a golden red deer jumped out. But when I saw the golden red deer running around at the foot of the mountain, it disappeared into the golden light again. They were shocked. They saw a colored aperture on the trail of red deer running. After the aperture disappeared, people suddenly realized that this was an epiphany of the sun god, who sent Jin Lu to draw four boundaries for the city.

When the city was built, people lived a quiet life. It is said that the haunt of Golden Deer is the center of ancient Lucheng. People call it Guanyin Pavilion, which is now in front of Wanfang Shopping Mall.

Legend has it that one year, Lucheng was hit by a flood. After the flood, the plague prevailed. Just when people call every day, they have nowhere to go. It is still the golden red deer with Ganoderma lucidum in its mouth. It turned around Lucheng three times, sang three times, nodded three times and disappeared into a golden light. Lu Jin and the people of Lucheng forged a deep love. This is the origin of "Golden Deer Singing Spring".
