The mountains are rolling, the sea of clouds in the valley is floating, and the Ming 'ao township with terraced fields built on the mountain is in front of us. There is a house in the mountains. I have a question: the water is flowing downwards, while the terraces are rising step by step. There was no water pump in ancient times. Where did the water of terraced fields come from? The old man who tilled the fields told me that the water is as high as the mountain. How high the water is, how high the terraces in Ming 'ao are.

In fact, there must be water sources suitable for planting terraces in any mountainous area: spring water, forest water storage, misty rain ... farmers build dikes according to different topography and soil quality, and introduce water into the banks of cascade fields through ditches.
