How is the living environment in Nanjing, weather, consumption?

In the 2014 list of livable cities in China released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Nanjing ranked 27th, in the "most competitive (top 50)" category. Other large cities such as Beijing ranked 41st, Shanghai ranked 10th, Shenzhen ranked 6th, and Guangzhou ranked 14th.

Climate-wise, Nanjing has a subtropical monsoon climate, with relatively hot summers (one of the three largest stoves in the past) and not too cold in winters. Generally, the highest temperature in summer is close to 40℃, and the lowest temperature in winter is minus 5℃.

In terms of consumption, Nanjing’s consumption level is relatively high. Taking housing prices as an example, Nanjing’s current housing prices are second only to Xiamen and Hangzhou among second-tier cities, ranking 8th in the country, and even higher than those of municipalities such as Tianjin and Chongqing. Therefore, living in Nanjing may be quite stressful due to high prices.

Nanjing’s greening is pretty good. Its greening area ranks among the top 10 in the country. Many streets are lined with tall sycamore trees.

Because it was once the ancient capital of six dynasties, Nanjing has a strong historical and cultural atmosphere.

On the whole, Nanjing is a relatively livable city.
