When is the best season to travel by car to Daocheng and Aden?

You can travel to Daocheng and Aden all year round. However, if you are not particularly enthusiastic and obsessed, don’t go in winter. You know the reason.

Daocheng Yading is very popular, but many people don’t understand what this is? Let’s talk briefly.

Daocheng is the name of a county. There is a township in the county. It was originally called Riva Township. Maybe the name was too rustic, so it was later changed to a foreign name, called Shangri-La Township, and then changed to Shangri-La Town. This Shangri-La needs to be clearly distinguished from the Shangri-La in Yunnan. There is a village in Shangri-La Town called Aden Village.

The relationship between Daocheng County - Shangri-La Town - Yading Village is straightened out.

Daocheng, the ancient name of "Daoba", means the open place at the mouth of the valley in Tibetan. One of the most puzzling place names. According to common sense, the word "rice" must mean a place with a large area of ??paddy fields and rich rice production, but it is also located on the high-altitude Western Sichuan Plateau. I estimate that Daocheng County has probably been named "Daocheng County" since ancient times. Not a single grain of rice has been produced.

The Daocheng Yading that people now refer to refers to a scenic spot named after Yading Village. The scenic spot is more than 100 kilometers away from Daocheng County. Generally speaking, tourists traveling to Yading Scenic Spot have to pass through the county.

Daocheng Yading is the core scenic spot of the nationally planned Greater Shangri-La Tourist Area. It is also a national nature reserve. It maintains pure characteristics that are almost extinct on the earth, with its unique landforms and original ecology. The natural scenery is known as the "Soul of Shangri-La" and "The Last Shangri-La". In the eyes of international friends, it is known as "the last piece of pure land on the aqua blue planet". There are three major sacred mountains in Daocheng Yading Scenic Area, which are known as the three main sacred mountains:

Xiannairi (Tibetan: Guanyin Bodhisattva)

Jiangbianyang (Tibetan: Manjusri Bodhisattva)

Xana Duoji (Tibetan: Vajrapani)

The three sacred mountains are not far from each other. They rise from the ground and form a triangle. However, their peak shapes are different and each has its own characteristics. feature. There are three sacred mountains, and of course there will be three sacred seas:

Pearl Sea, which means "Tara Lake", is a lake formed by the melting snow of Xiannai.

The Five-Colored Sea is called "Tenzincuo" in Tibetan. The lake surface is round. Under the refraction of light, the lake surface will show five different colors.

The Milk Sea, also known as "Erongcuo" in Tibetan, is scallop-shaped and named after the blue snow water in the middle and a circle of milky white water around it. Milk Sea is an ancient glacial lake shaped like a water droplet and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. There are also several iconic attractions in Daocheng Yading Scenic Area:

Luorong Cattle Farm

The nearby alpine pasture where villagers have been grazing for generations, where groups of cattle and sheep will enjoy With plenty of sunshine, green land and pure lake water.

Chonggu Temple

"Chonggu Temple" means "the temple at the source of the lake". It is 3,900 meters above sea level. It was built in the Yuan Dynasty nearly 800 years ago. It belongs to the Yellow Sect temple.

Chonggu Meadow

Chonggu Meadow is a natural bonsai composed of grassland, forest, creek and manidui. Standing here, you can have a glimpse of Xiannairi and Sharang Dorje.

Seongsumun Gate

Seongsumun Gate is a naturally formed rock shaped like two doors. According to legend, milky white holy water will be sprayed out from the Holy Water Gate every year on April 15th in the Tibetan calendar, so it is called the Holy Water Gate. The discovery and popularity of Daocheng Yading took a long time

As early as 1928, American botanist and explorer Joseph Locke first discovered the magical place of Daocheng Yading. After returning to China, he published a photo of Daocheng Aden in National Geographic Magazine, introducing this place to the world. The whole world was agitated about this holy place, but the impression in the minds of the Chinese people was mediocre and it did not cause much waves.

It was not until 2016 that the love movie "Passing Through Your World", which was shot in Daocheng Yading, was broadcast, suddenly brought this sacred place to people's attention. People flock to Daocheng Aden like crazy, especially during holidays and other holidays. The vehicles outside the scenic area can sometimes be lined up in a queue of ten miles long. Things you need to pay attention to when traveling to Daocheng Yading

Daocheng Yading is a high-altitude area with strong ultraviolet rays and a large temperature difference between morning and evening. Therefore, you need to prepare long-sleeved warm clothes. It is best to bring ink, a sun hat, and sunscreen. Cream, lip balm, essential medicines, etc.

There are long-distance hiking areas in the scenic area. The climbing time is relatively long and the altitude is high. You can bring some chocolate, beef jerky and other food to supplement your energy belt. Oxygen bottles should also be prepared. The weather in Aden is changeable, so be prepared with a raincoat. Many times when you go up the mountain, the sky is still blue and white clouds, but when you reach the middle of the mountain, it will be violently windy and rainy.

The best way to go to Aden is to drive or take a bus. You need to adapt to the high altitude as slowly as possible. It is not recommended to fly directly. Many passengers who fly have high altitude sickness as soon as they get off the plane and cannot adapt.

Tickets for attractions (146 yuan/person) and tickets for dozens of kilometers into the mountains (120 yuan) are a bit expensive. There is also an optional self-paid battery fare (50 yuan for one way, 80 yuan for round trip). Hotel prices are on the expensive side, so it is recommended to travel during off-peak hours.

Ku Meier went to Daocheng Yading during the National Day holiday in October last year. The earliest time she drove on the Sichuan-Tibet Route 318 was in May, which happened to be at the beginning and end of the best time to enter Tibet. Therefore, from my personal feeling, it can be said that autumn is the best season for self-driving in Daocheng Yading.

Go to Daocheng Yading in autumn. The colors here are more colorful and the sky is higher. It can be said that it is the most beautiful time of the year in Daocheng Yading.

When I went to Daocheng Yading in May, the leaves did not turn yellow or red, and the meadows and canyons were almost the same color of green. It was beautiful, but it was a bit monotonous compared with autumn.

After October, the weather is relatively cold, and the climate in the plateau area changes erratically. It may be rainy or snowy, and the blue sky and white clouds above the Milk Sea complement the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains. You may not be able to appreciate it.

There is one bad thing about summer: the rainy season.

Especially in plateau areas, roads are prone to landslides, and there are many chances of encountering severe weather, heavy storms, rain, and even hail, making it not suitable for self-driving travel.

If you are driving in Daocheng Yading from Chengdu, then take the Sichuan-Tibet Route 318 and pass through Ya'an, Luding and Kangding. The scenery is beautiful along the way in autumn.

Autumn has the richest colors, the bluest sky, and the most clumps of white clouds.

Tibetan areas in autumn are full of heart-stopping beauty, such as yaks, white pagodas, colorful prayer flags, mysterious Mani piles, clear lakes...

< p> If you arrive in Daocheng Yading,

You have seen the legendary Milk Sea and Five-Colored Sea, and taken photos at Jiarong Cattle Farm. Then, if you go along Route 318, you can also go to Litang, which is not far away. The love song prince Tsangyang Gyatso never forgets a place he has never been to, a small town with the highest altitude in the world with unique scenery and culture.

If you don’t have time to go to Tibet, you can feel the Tibetan customs here.

It is recommended to find a Tibetan restaurant near Litang to eat a pure Tibetan meal and chat with the Tibetan people, which will give you a different feeling.

If you want to drive to Tibet by yourself, choose autumn!

September is more suitable. Note: Private vehicles are not allowed into the scenic area. Buy a few oxygen tanks and bring them with you.

Beautiful beyond your imagination! The best time to travel to Daocheng Yading: only 15 days out of 365 days, but most travelers missed it

Daocheng Yading is a place full of fantasy, romance and poetry. Although such a distant place requires tickets, It’s still a place where people keep coming.

When is the best time to travel to Daocheng Yading?

Answer: It is in the middle of October every year, and it only lasts for 15 days.

There are some disagreements about the beauty of Daocheng Yading. After some tourists came back from a trip, they felt that the Daocheng Aden they saw was completely different from the pictures on the Internet, and they regretted coming to such a place.

Regarding this phenomenon, Daocheng Yading cannot speak or defend itself. But in fact, it is not that Daocheng Yading is not beautiful, but that tourists chose the wrong time.

Daocheng Yading belongs to the beautiful scenery of the plateau, such as the "Mirror of the Sky" Chaka Salt Lake and "Qinghai Maldives" Dongtai Yoshino Erhu, if you want to see the visual effects seen online, you must meet three conditions: first, it cannot be cloudy; second, it cannot be rainy; third, it cannot be snow.

(For example, can you imagine that the two pictures below are the same place in different seasons?)

In layman’s terms, if you want to see the beautiful scenery of Daocheng Yading, you must be sunny. Almost any plateau scenic spot requires good weather to see its beauty, because only bright sunshine can highlight the clear and magnificent colors of Daocheng Yading's green cypresses, green poplars, clear water and snow-capped mountains. Otherwise, what we see Probably just a regular hillside.

From December to April every year, it is almost impossible to find tourists in Daocheng Aden. Only starting from May, the number of tourists going to Daocheng Aden will gradually increase, and July to September is the peak tourist season in Daocheng Aden. But the most beautiful moment in Daocheng Yading is the golden autumn season in mid-October.

Because many of the beautiful scenery in Daocheng Yading are seasonal landscapes, especially the red grassland and golden poplar forest with the most eye-catching color changes. If you miss this 15-day period of the year, you will It is rare to see such a view again.

In mid-October, it is the golden autumn, and Daocheng Aden is like God’s palette: white clouds, blue sky, white snow Snow-capped mountains, golden forest farms, turquoise lakes, and clear sunshine create a colorful fairy tale world. The flaming grassland, the colorful forest sea, the golden cypress poplars, and the flowing green sea, they form the "last piece of pure land on the aqua blue planet" and maintain the "last Shambhala" in the Tibetan plateau area. soul".

However, since most travel enthusiasts do not have time in mid-October, only a small number of travelers are lucky enough to come to Daocheng Yading, so the beauty of Daocheng Yading has not been discovered by most people.

However, it is not bad to travel to Daocheng Yading from July to September. As long as the weather is good, you can still appreciate the charming beauty of Daocheng Yading. There are layers of green grasslands, seas of colorful flowers, and lakes as green as mirrors. But without the companionship of colorful forests, golden poplar forests and red grasslands, the trip to western Sichuan will be somewhat monotonous.

Unlike the small bridges and flowing water in the south of the Yangtze River, and the simplicity and heavyness in the northwest, Western Sichuan is a land of spirituality. The land, the blue sky, the majestic snow-capped mountains, and the floating clouds in the sky set off the green grassland, giving people unlimited reverie. Daocheng Yading is one of the best in this land.

So when is the best time to go to Daocheng Yading?

You must know that Sichuan is a rainy province. Throughout the spring and summer, it rains non-stop. It feels quite comfortable, and there is no problem in going to the surrounding Dujiangyan, Qingcheng Mountain, Leshan, Emei Mountain, and Langzhong Ancient City. However, when traveling to western Sichuan, it is recommended to think carefully when it rains. If you have friends who want to travel by car in Western Sichuan, my advice to you is this.

On the journey from Chengdu to Daocheng, Siguniang Mountain, Hailuogou, Luding Bridge, Kangding , Xinduqiao...to Daocheng Yading, it should be said to be the most beautiful journey. I once traveled to Chengdu in September, and it rained every day. I was waiting hard for the weather to clear up to go to Daocheng Yading. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind and the trip never happened.

In early April, it is more suitable to travel by car to Daocheng and Aden, where you can enjoy the diverse scenery and have a tourist experience.

Choose this month to go to Daocheng and Aden. You can see the remaining snow on the mountains along the way. The white snow is intertwined with the green grass that has just sprouted. It flickers in and out. The artistic conception is ethereal and beautiful.

The gurgling stream water that has just melted has the beautiful scenery of pure water in winter, and the artistic conception of warm spring rivers and lakes full of spring.

Milk sea, five-color sea. Close view, clear and transparent. Turquoise pool water and blue lake water blend naturally. The lush greenery all around changes the seasons. Looking at the surrounding mountains, you can see the rare white snow covered, melted and non-transformed, scattered in the cracks of the rocks and on the convex rocks. The far, middle and close shots dress up Daocheng and Aden into beautiful notes of natural jumping.

Combine self-driving travel with medium-distance hiking, step on the newly revived green grass, properly climb the snow-capped mountains, experience the beauty of winter, stir up the gurgling streams and splash the water, spring is here, enjoy it to the fullest .

Take a self-driving tour to Daocheng and Aden in April to enjoy the scenery of two seasons. Along the way, you can enjoy the thousands of acres of pear blossoms and natural rainbows in western Sichuan. Under the blue sky and auspicious clouds, listen to the waving prayer flags and pray, the sound of nature is pure and natural. In Daocheng, Aden experienced the beauty of life.

The best time to go to Aden Daocheng is between May and November. Then in winter, I won’t say much about whether it’s beautiful or not. The main reason is that it’s too cold!

Cold will make people’s expectations for beauty worthless, so you must choose the right season to go to Daocheng, Aden.

We go in summer because it is green, in autumn because it is golden, and in winter there are only white ones. It cannot be said that the white ones are not beautiful because they are cold and prevent us from discovering them. beautiful.

To go to Aden, you can choose to drive by yourself or charter a car. If there are many people, you can choose Buick Business or SUV.

The main places to visit in Daocheng, Aden are the red stone beach, the five-color sea and the milk sea, and you can also see the 16 Venerables.

From April to July, go to Aden Daocheng. The roads are full of flowers. You can see the azaleas. Aden Daocheng is a paradise for azaleas. At this time, the azaleas are in full bloom, making you feel like you don’t want them.

From September to October, in Aden Daocheng, tens of thousands of acres of poplar forests become a sea of ??colors, and the snow-capped mountains look even more dreamy under the blue sky.

Everyone has heard of the Mount Kailash Mountain Walk. Have you heard of the Aden Mountain Walk? In fact, you can also do the mountain walk in Jiading. The small mountain walk is a circle around Xiannairi. Well, Da Zhuan Mountain is a photo tour around the three sacred mountains. Tibetan believers usually choose Da Zhuan Mountain and sleep on the grass at night.

Tourists generally recommend small flyers. There are two aspects to consider. Firstly, you can go around in a circle to see all the scenic spots. Secondly, you can have food and accommodation on the way. The most important thing is that you have to pass through Junior College Mountain. At an altitude of 4,500 meters, if you go out to the Tibetan authorities, you will experience high altitude sickness.

What should you do if you encounter high altitude sickness, or how to prevent it in advance?

You can drink rhodiola in advance before entering Tibetan areas. When you reach the plateau, you are most afraid of two things. The first is strenuous exercise, and the second is the fear of catching a cold. Vigorous exercise will accelerate blood circulation and make the blood less sensitive to oxygen. Increased demand will soon cause altitude sickness, and colds can cause pulmonary edema and cerebral edema, which is life-threatening.

So when you go to the plateau, whether you turn around or do other work, you must move slowly and don’t be too clever...

Regarding driving to Daocheng Yading, in fact, on the way The beauty should account for a large part of the journey. Whether coming from Deqin in Yunnan or arriving from Chengdu in western Sichuan, the beautiful scenery along the way presents multiple levels and high and low altitudes.

In late autumn from late October to early November, the sense of color is strongest, and everything is as beautiful as an oil painting on a hot day. However, at the same time, the temperature is low and the degree of dryness increases, showing that it is not dull in the off-season. The sacred mountain of Aden will be presented more clearly.

In terms of physical experience, July and August are better. If it is during the highland barley ripening season, you will see another scene.

But in fact, the visiting experience in Daocheng Yading is often not as good as expected. First, the altitude is indeed high, and second, the accessible viewing platforms are limited, which seems a bit monotonous. If you can see the sacred mountain from a distance, you may not even feel that you must Close to it.

The main attractions in Daocheng include Red Grassland, Yading, and thousands of acres of poplar forest beside the river. The best viewing time for red grassland is during the National Day holiday, and the best viewing time for Aden and Qingyang Forest is in mid-October. Therefore, the best time for comprehensive viewing is to arrive at Daocheng on October 8 after the National Day holiday. First visit the Red Grassland, then Aden and Qingyang Forest, and finally recommend Xingyicuo in Daocheng (Picture 8-9). It feels like a world away here. I don’t know if there is any charge now. The following photos were taken when I went to Daocheng in October 2014.

I personally recommend going in June or September every year.

The best season is from mid-October to late November in autumn, when the colorful forests and red leaves are all over the mountains and plains. The autumn air is crisp and the sky is clear. It is easiest to produce blockbusters

Actually, it is April or May. , June and July, the rainless season, can also produce good films such as the Milk Sea.

The most unsuitable months are August and September. If you go during the rainy season, you will not be able to see anything.

Of course, you can also go to see snow in winter, but there are no snow-related projects, it is very separate, and some attractions may even be closed due to heavy snow.
