Why are young people unwilling to develop into the service industry?

The reasons why young people are unwilling to be waiters nowadays are: service concept, economic development, parents' face, only child and restaurant management.

1, service concept problem

With the rapid development of economy, the tertiary industry, mainly service industry, is also changing with each passing day. However, little progress has been made in service consciousness and equality concept. Many people mistakenly think that the service staff in restaurants just wait on others when they get cold feet every day, so many young people (including their parents) regard it as a lowly job and occupation.

For this reason, when it comes to waiters, many people naturally look down on this profession, and there are many misunderstandings and prejudices. Under such prejudice, employees themselves will take it for granted that their work is looked down upon and they are prone to inferiority complex. When there are other options, it is easy to give up the job in the catering industry, which is also one of the reasons for the loss.

2. Economic development issues

Young people who grew up in cities basically don't work as waiters, while young people from rural areas need to solve their own survival problems once they leave school, either working at home or going out to work.

In the past, many rural parents did not expect their children to earn much money when they went out, but only let their children go out to work to support themselves. Therefore, young people in rural areas will choose restaurants to serve their work in nearby cities.

However, with the economic development, China's demographic dividend has been exhausted, and the young labor force has become very nervous. Factories like Foxconn have sent personnel commissioners to stations and docks in remote mountainous areas to "grab" workers. In addition, information channels have become smooth, and young people in rural areas want to go out and have a look. Therefore, compared with the two, most young people are willing to go far away and work in developed coastal areas.

3. Parents' face problem

China people's deep-rooted concept of face is the initial source of labor shortage in service industry. Through frequent contact with rural folks, we can clearly feel that they don't want their children or younger generations to work as waiters in restaurants. This is not a question of salary, but a question of their face!

In a village, if other children work in coastal factories, but their own children work as waiters in restaurants, then when they come home for reunion at the end of the Spring Festival, even if other children have no money, their children will bring back tens of thousands of deposits.

But it's a pity: for parents, they are not happy, and even feel that they can't hold their heads in the village, because they will think that their children are doing rough work and no one else's children can do it.

4. The only child problem

Nowadays, young people are the only child generation. Even in rural areas, the proportion of only children is quite high. However, with the development of economy, these young people are suffering less and less when they grow up and are cared for by their parents.

Not to mention that young people in cities, even children in rural areas, have hardly experienced too much hardship. Apart from living in the countryside, the difference between them and urban children is getting smaller and smaller.
