History of Shanghai Peninsula Hotel

On May 7th, 2004, the Kadoorie family officially announced their investment in Shanghai Peninsula Hotel. This is the first time that it has returned to Shanghai after being away from Shanghai for more than 50 years, and continues to write about its "hundred-year love" with Shanghai. According to reports, Hong Kong Shanghai Hotel Co., Ltd. was established in 1866, when it was doing business in both Hong Kong and Shanghai. After World War II, Hong Kong Shanghai Hotel Co., Ltd. sold all its shares in the mainland, left Shanghai and turned to Hong Kong Peninsula as the flagship symbol of the hotel company.

Shanghai Peninsula Hotel, located at No.31,Zhongshan Dongyi Road, Shanghai, is the first project in the beach source project. It is planned to start construction this year and be completed and put into operation around 2008. By then, the platinum five-star Shanghai Peninsula Hotel will not only add new elegance to the peninsula-shaped Bund, but also become a new landmark of high-end places in Shanghai relying on world-renowned brands, rich management experience and world-class services.
