Before the Tang and Song Dynasties, Hengxi Town was the main road leading to the south of Zhejiang, which was once prosperous in history. The Dameishan Zen in Meifu, the traditional Dameishan Zen style, and the Baizhang Purity Regulations in Huaihai attracted scholars and scholars from all previous dynasties, and all those who sought immortals to visit Zen came here. When Wang Anshi was appointed county magistrate in Song Dynasty, he traveled to Dameishan and lived in Fu Bao Temple. Lou Yao, an official in the Southern Song Dynasty, wrote in "You Da Mei Shan": In order to recall the plum blossoms in Xijing, people say it is not gloomy; There are no traces of ancient tombs on the seashore, but there are gods in the peaks outside the mountain.
