Getting started on the road from Chongqing to Yunnan

Yunnan, south of the colorful clouds, is a place that many people yearn for. This place is also a popular tourist attraction. People come to visit no matter what time of year, and naturally there are tourists from all over the country. So today, the editor will bring you a tour guide from Chongqing to Yunnan.

1. Route Overview

Chongqing - Liupanshui, Guizhou - Qujing - Kunming - Dali - Lijiang - Shangri-La - Lijiang - Lijiang Ancient Town - Return.

Once in life you have to go on a road trip with your familiar friends. I always say that once in a lifetime, I want to take a trip that I can just go on. where are you going? I have always wanted to go to Yunnan. The opportunity came, go to Yunnan. Having decided on the direction, I hit the road.

I haven’t planned my trip for a road trip in a long time. But due to the long distance, I spent most of my time in the car.

2. Detailed itinerary

Day 1: From Chongqing to Liupanshui, Guizhou to Qujing (living in Qujing)

You will not know the real scenery until you arrive in Guizhou What the mountains look like.

This picture is of Dali.

The next day} Qujing-Kunming-Dali (live in Dali)

When we visited, Erhai Lake was undergoing rectification, and all sea-view rooms on the seaside were closed. When we arrived in Dali, we went directly to Haitang. The road was under construction and it was extremely difficult to walk. Some cars and beans were stuck in it. I originally planned to stay near Haishu, but later I found a hotel called Butterfly Spring. It was very quiet and had a lot of sweet-scented osmanthus planted there, which was very fragrant.

The third day: -Take a lake tour to Lijiang in the afternoon.

I went swimming in the lake early in the morning. Maybe I was really unlucky. The weather was bad and it rained, so the photos I took didn’t look good.

Take the old road to Lijiang in the afternoon instead of taking the expressway. I also saw a lot of beautiful scenery along the way. On the road, I met a soldier who was training. As soon as we arrived in Lijiang, it started raining very hard. Parking was not convenient, so I found a business hotel in front of Lijiang Old Town and spent the evening strolling around Lijiang Old Town. Here I want to talk about parking. The ancient city only has a parking lot at the north gate, which is very small and expensive. It is recommended to call the place where you want to stay and ask if there is a parking place.

Day 4: Go to Shangri-La with a group.

I went there in the summer and saw a lot of cave-ins and bends along the way. You have to be very careful when driving to Shangri-La. On the one hand, I chose to go to Shangri-La with a group for this reason; on the other hand, I felt a little tired after driving for too long.

For lunch at Shangri-La, most of Shangri-La’s vegetables are shipped here, so be sure to cherish them and don’t waste them. I went to Pudacuo National Park in the afternoon, which I think is the most worth visiting. The temperature is very low in summer, so winter clothing is a must. Pudacuo National Park is really beautiful, especially the original ecology. I don't know what words to use to describe its beauty. I come from the mountains and am used to seeing mountains and rivers, but I still find it beautiful.

It should be noted that every place in Pudacuo is full of charm. Don't be too excited at the beginning, otherwise you will be very tired later. After visiting the attraction, a transportation vehicle will return to the entrance. You can see many yaks and Tibetan pigs along the way. I heard from the tour guide that Tibetan pigs bite people, hahahaha.

In fact, visiting a Tibetan home at night is not as wonderful as promised online. Our cost at that time should be included in the tour fee, but he will take photos for you during the process. If you want it, you'll pay for it. I don’t and won’t force you. The whole atmosphere was very exciting, but unfortunately I didn’t take any photos.

Day 5: Shangri-La - Return to Lijiang.

The next day we went to the largest tribute site in Shangri-La, which was very sacred. Because I am not religious, I won’t describe many of them. Then I went to a place similar to Fengqing Street, but I slept in the car because I got up too early in the morning and didn’t get out of the car.

On the way back in the afternoon, we went to Tiger Leaping Gorge. To be honest, after watching Pudacuo, I thought Tiger Leaping Gorge was pretty good.

Regarding height prevention, I still want to say here that oxygen bottles must be prepared. If you are going to Shangri-La with a group, don’t worry, the tour guide will prepare it. As the altitude of Shangri-La gets higher and higher, it is necessary to take a breath from time to time. Remember to take a sip after washing at night.

There is also the issue of shopping. We sign up for a general tour, which is not expensive. No shopping required, the tour guide is also very good! The whole process was a pleasure. The most touching thing was that on the way back, the tour guide received a call and asked if there was anyone named so-and-so in our group.

I thought it was me, and then the tour guide said I left my wallet at the hotel. I was very confused at that time. Then the tour guide asked other tour guides from the travel agency to help me take it back to Lijiang the next day without losing anything. I am really grateful.

Day 6: Lijiang Ancient Town

I originally planned to go to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, but then I felt that the schedule was too tight, so I chose to spend a day in the ancient city. Buy souvenirs. In fact, the most important thing is that I am still waiting for another tour guide to return with a wallet. I found this picture online, I didn’t have time to take pictures because I was busy eating snacks haha.

Day 7: Return (stay in Shuicheng, Guizhou)

In summer, the temperature in Shuicheng is just right. Not hot at all. I had a pig's trotter soup pot, which was cheap and delicious.

3. Precautions

Before going out on the road, you should check the vehicle first. On a road trip, it's best to invite more vehicles to walk along the same road and look out for each other. Before setting off, your vehicle must be thoroughly inspected to ensure it is in top condition. At the end of each day's trip, the vehicle is briefly inspected and any problems found are dealt with promptly. Commonly used tools for car maintenance should also be prepared in the car to ensure they are foolproof.

Know the traffic information in a timely manner. Be sure to understand the traffic information in advance before driving. If you feel that the information provided by TV and radio is not timely enough, you can choose to call the weather station. Especially on foggy days, you should ask about road conditions in advance to grasp the accurate situation to avoid highway closures, road driving difficulties, etc., which will add unnecessary trouble to yourself.

Driving at a constant speed. Don’t drive fast or slow in winter. Try to keep your vehicle moving at a constant speed, especially on icy roads. Be careful not to drive too fast to avoid accidents such as rear-end collisions.

Be prepared "just in case." You know, you need to be thoughtful when you go out, and try to take into account all the problems that may arise on the road to prepare for emergencies. Including spare tire, air pump, flashlight, antifreeze, brake fluid, gear oil, engine oil, light bulbs, safety plates of various specifications, jacks, towing ropes, pliers, and wrenches.
