What is fabric density?

Question 1: What does fabric density mean? High count yarn.

High count yarn represents the fineness of cotton yarn. The higher the British count of cotton yarn, the finer the yarn, the better the quality of cotton and the more expensive it is. High count yarn generally refers to high count yarn. Generally speaking, animal and plant fiber yarns with a count of more than 60s belong to high count yarns, and chemical fiber yarns with a count of more than 90s belong to high count yarns. Generally speaking, more than 40 yarns are considered as high count yarns. Therefore, there are two kinds of high count cotton, pure cotton and non-pure cotton, which have better antistatic property, and only special materials are completely antistatic.

Fabric density can be divided into warp density and weft density. Generally speaking, the finer the yarn count, the greater the possible density, so high density is often based on high count. It is customary to add up the number of warp density and weft density to about 300, which is called high density. Pure cotton texture, 30, 40, 60 and so on. For example, 30 branches of 78 * 65 indicate that the warp and weft density in 1 cm2 is 143 (78+65). 40 blocks 1 10 * 90 means that the latitude and longitude density in 1 cm2 is 200 (1/kloc-0+90). The fabric of 40 pieces 133 * 72 is generally used for the quilt cover of advanced bedding such as wool quilt and duvet to prevent wool from getting into the heart and flowing downstream.

High count yarn is generally used to spin high-grade fabrics and special fabrics. Due to the limitation of equipment and technology, the traditional ring spinning machine can't produce high count yarn. In recent years, China's spinning technology has been able to produce high count yarn by itself.

High count yarn fabric

As the fabric of high count yarn, it is generally thinner than that of ordinary yarn. Think about it, how can the fabric of worsted yarn be thicker than that of ordinary yarn? Thin fabric doesn't mean poor quality, as long as it is high yarn and high density, it is a good fabric. Let me give you a more detailed introduction to the quality of fabrics.

There are many ways to judge the quality of fabrics. Generally, everyone will ask, "How many yarns are there?" . In fact, the yarn count is only a small part of textile fabrics. Usually in the textile fabrics of our bedding, this is the distinction. Yarns below 40 are ordinary yarns (excluding 40 yarns), and yarns above 40 are high count yarns. Of course, the higher the yarn count, the more expensive the cotton yarn. At present, the price difference of cotton yarn in the domestic market is still very large (for example, 30 yarn is only 20 thousand yuan a ton, and 40 yarn is about 32 thousand yuan a ton). This also affects the quality of bedding.

Secondly, it depends on the weaving method of the cloth under the same yarn count. The quality of twill with the same yarn count is better than plain weave, but compared with plain weave of ordinary yarn, high count yarn has higher cost and better quality. I just want to tell you here that the quality of plain weave is not necessarily worse than that of twill weave. Be sure to ask whether it is ordinary yarn or high count yarn when purchasing goods. If you notice this, you can also buy good goods you like.

Another point is to look at the density of yarn count. As a weaving factory, high-count yarns are generally used to weave fabrics, which will be woven into high density (everyone thinks that this is like building a house with high-grade building materials, which is of course the same as building a better house). If the density is high, more cotton yarn will be used for weaving every linear meter, and density is also an important aspect to determine the quality of cloth. Mainly divided into longitude density and latitude density, generally lower longitude and higher latitude. Of course, regardless of warp and weft, the higher the density, the better the quality.

As far as I know, ordinary yarn has not been made into high density. It's not that it can't be made, but it wastes resources and increases costs, and it can't produce the quality effect of high count yarn. The quality of cotton cloth made of ordinary yarns is uneven and the density is different. For example, 20 count yarns and 2/kloc-0 count yarns are relatively thick yarns, and the woven cloth feels very thick, but the quality is much worse than that of high count yarns. At present, 30 yarns are popular in the market, both high-density and low-density, depending on what kind of products the manufacturer wants to make, that is, the density is slightly higher.

Of course, it feels thicker than a cloth with 40 yarns of the same density, but the quality is by no means better than a cloth with 40 yarns. The quality of yarn will be better when it reaches 60 or 80, which depends on the merchant. As a general buyer, it is a layman to identify yarn counts, but we should also pay attention. You can usually tell from the price. For example, the cost of 60 yarns and 80 yarns is definitely higher than that of 200 yuan, so add the profit of the merchants to ............................... >>.

Question 2: Fabric density of fabric count It is explained that density refers to the number of warp and weft yarns arranged per square inch, which is called warp and weft density. Generally, it is expressed by "number of warp yarns * number of weft yarns". Common densities such as 1 10*90, 128*68, 65*78, 133*73 indicate that there are 1 10 warp yarns per square inch respectively,/kloc-. Weft yarns are 90, 68, 78 and 73 respectively. Generally speaking, high branches are the premise of high density. Myth: It is often said that "the more branches, the better; the higher the density, the thicker the cloth". This is a completely wrong statement: this is not necessarily the case. More than 40 kinds of bedding fabrics are considered as high count and high density fabrics. If it is the same density, the higher the number of branches, the better. Many 40-count fabrics in the market feel similar to 60-count fabrics, because the 40-count twill printed fabrics selected in the market are all yarns with a width of 2m 3, and the density reaches 128*68 (some manufacturers reduce the number of yarns when weaving fabrics in order to reduce costs. The same 40 pieces of fabric, without 3 yarns, the price can be much worse), the fabric is quite dense, so it will feel as thick as 60 pieces of fabric with a width of 2.5 meters.

Question 3: What does the cotton density of128x68 mean? What is the relationship between fabric density and cotton thickness? For example, which fabric is better, 128x68 or 133x72? 1. Warp 128X Weft 68= Fabric density 196 yarns per square foot.

2. Warp yarn 133X weft yarn 72= fabric density of 205 yarns/square foot.

There is no better way to say it. Mainly depends on the application. The first one needs to be thinner and the second one needs to be thicker/denser.

Question 4: What is the optimum density of pure cotton fabric? It's hard to say. It depends on what you do ... the finer the yarn count, the higher the density!

Question 5: Density of textiles. Identification of density: Fabric density refers to the number of yarns arranged in the range of 10 cm in the fabric. Root density is high. The number of warp arrangement is called warp density, and the number of weft arrangement is called weft density. Generally speaking, the warp density of fabrics is greater than the weft density, but the degree of warp density is different. Gabardine has the largest warp density, which is about twice the weft density.

Yarn count is a unit to measure the fineness of a certain weight of fabric yarn. The longer the length, there are two kinds of counts: English count and metric count:

Inch count: what is the length of a pound of yarn at standard moisture regain? 840 yards, which is called how many English counts. The higher the count, the finer the yarn (where 1 lbs = =0.45KG,1yard = 0.91m);

Metric count: how many meters is the length of 1KG heavy yarn at a given moisture regain, which is called how many metric counts. The higher the count, the finer the yarn, which is often used to measure the fineness of cotton and wool yarn. However, metric counting is an illegal unit of measurement and has stopped being used in China.

Textile density measurement includes yarn breaking point method, magnifying glass observation counting method and density plate method)

Question 6: What is the density unit of cloth? The density unit of cloth is the number of warp/weft yarns per square inch. The density of fabric refers to the number of warp or weft yarns per unit length of fabric. Density is divided into warp density and weft density, which are called warp density and weft density for short. It is widely used in China: 1 inch (2.54cm).

Question 7: What is the density of high-grade shirt fabrics? The quality of shirt fabric is determined by yarn weaving, not density. The number of ordinary shirts will not exceed 80, and the number of high-grade shirts will reach more than 120, and the flagship product will even reach 160. The yarn count is a way of marking the yarn when it leaves the factory, and it is usually expressed by the English count (S) in the fixed weight system (this calculation method can be divided into metric count and English count), that is, the number of twisted yarns with a lay length of 840 yards is the number when the moisture regain is constant (8.5%).

Yarn weaving:

That is to say, the thickness of fabric yarn, the thinner the yarn, the thinner the cloth woven with this yarn, the softer and more comfortable the cloth, and conversely, the lower the count, the thicker the yarn. Above 30S is called high count yarn, (20S-30S) is medium count yarn, and below 20S is low count yarn.

Density:

Refers to the sum of the warp and weft densities of the fabric, which can also be expressed separately, for example, 200 yarns/1 square inch, with 1 10 yarns in the warp direction and 90 yarns in the weft direction, or10 * 90. For example, the density of XXCC products is 144 yarns/1 square inch.

Question 8: What is the count and density of bedding fabric? Everyone will choose safe, breathable and warm cotton fabrics as bedding. In fact, there are many pure cotton fabrics that are also very good, such as sanding and velvet. In addition, fabrics are actually only a very simple standard for purchasing winter bedding, and good fabrics should be judged from the number and density.

Yarn count: Generally speaking, yarn count is a unit used to measure yarn thickness. Common yarn counts are 30, 40, 60, etc. The larger the number, the finer the yarn and the higher the grade.

High count: High count and high density generally represent the texture of pure cotton fabrics. "High count" refers to the high count of yarns used in fabrics, such as cotton yarns JC60S, JC80S, JC 100S, JC 120S, JC 160S, JC260S, etc. The larger the count, the finer the count. In the production process, the higher the yarn count, the longer the cotton wadding used for spinning, such as "long-staple cotton" or "Egyptian long-staple cotton", which makes the yarn uniform, elastic and shiny.

High density: In every square inch of fabric, warp yarns are called warp yarns and weft yarns are called weft yarns. The sum of the number of warp yarns and weft yarns is the density of the fabric. The so-called "high density" refers to the high density of warp and weft yarns in the fabric, that is, there are many yarns per unit area, such as 300/square inch, 400/square inch, 600/square inch, 1000/square inch, 12000/square inch and so on. The higher the yarn.

Plain weave fabric: warp and weft are interwoven every other yarn. This kind of fabric is called plain fabric. It is characterized by many interweaving points, crisp texture, consistent appearance on both sides, light and thin fabric, good permeability, about 30 pieces, and relatively low price.

Twill fabric: The warp and weft are interwoven at least once every two yarns, and the weave structure of the fabric is changed by increasing or decreasing the interweaving points of the warp and weft, which is collectively called twill fabric. It is characterized by positive and negative points, few interweaving points, long floating thread, soft feel, high fabric density, thick products and strong three-dimensional sense. There are 30, 40 and 60 branches.

Yarn-dyed: Yarn-dyed is the yarn dyed in advance when it is woven into cloth, instead of dyeing and printing the color after it is woven into white grey cloth. Yarn-dyed fabrics are uniform in color without chromatic aberration, and the color fastness will be better, and it is not easy to fade.

Jacquard fabric: Compared with "printing" and "embroidery", it refers to the pattern formed by the change of warp and weft weave when the fabric is woven. Jacquard fabric requires fine yarn count, which requires extremely high raw cotton.

High count and high density fabric, the yarn is very fine, so the fabric will feel very soft and have good gloss. Although it is a cotton fabric, it is as smooth as silk, more delicate and skin-friendly, and its performance is better than that of ordinary yarn density fabric.

Question 9: What does fabric density mean? Is the greater the density, the better and more comfortable the fabric is? Fabric density refers to the number of warp and weft yarns. It depends on the purpose of the cloth. High density has good sag and firmness. It depends on the composition of the yarn.
