If a citizen of China marries a foreigner voluntarily within the territory of China, both parties must apply for registration at the marriage registration office designated by the people's government of the province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government where the China citizen is registered, and must abide by the Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China and relevant regulations.

China citizens and foreigners applying for marriage registration shall hold the following documents respectively:

(a) China citizens should hold a household registration book, identity card and proof of the name, gender, date of birth, nationality, marital status (unmarried, divorced, widowed), occupation, nature of work and the person applying for marriage issued by the organs, schools, institutions and enterprises at or above the county level where the household registration is located.

(2) Foreigners must hold their own passports or identity and nationality certificates (certificates); Alien's residence permit issued by China's public security organs or ID card or temporary entry and residence certificate issued by the foreign affairs department; And the certificate of marital status (unmarried, divorced, widowed) issued by the notary office of the country certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (the authorized organ of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Chinese embassies and consulates in the country; If you have lived in China for more than six months continuously, the embassy or consulate of that country may issue a certificate of marital status (the oath of the parties is invalid). Divorced people must also hold a valid divorce certificate, and widowed people must also hold a death certificate.

Both men and women must also submit the pre-marital health examination certificate and photos issued by the hospital designated by the registration authority. As long as it conforms to China's marriage law and related regulations, it is allowed to register and issue marriage certificates.
