2020 Hotel Front Desk Internship Experience

It has been three months since I came out of school as an intern. During my three-month internship at the front desk of the hotel, I gradually became familiar with the workflow of the front desk of the hotel. When I used to stay in a hotel, I saw them doing some information about hotel employees. I didn't know how hard they worked until I really got in touch with this industry. It is true that every line of work is not simple, and it takes a lot of effort to see the results.

These months, I don't understand why I have to stand there and record information, but I can't sit. Now I know that standing is respect and courtesy for visitors. Standing guard from 5 am to 6 am is not too hard for a person whose biological clock is 7 am to 8 am. One stop is a few hours, my legs are almost numb, and I have to laugh all the time and work in a hotel. This is the most basic job, serving every customer with a smile. Because of the shortage of staff, our receptionist sometimes has to work in black and white and can only rest in that gap. When there are many customers, people are so busy that they don't even have time to eat, and they have to stand there all the time and introduce them to some matters needing attention in rooms and hotels. It's really hard, and I often want to give up, but I think I'm still in the internship period, so I can't leave my job at will, and it's not good for graduation, so I'm slowly sticking to it until now, and I'm beginning to accept the negative impact of this job and get some relief from other places. I have adapted to the present, I am familiar with the work at the front desk, and I can do it myself.

During my internship, what I realized most was the hard work of this position. I really admire those who have been working in this position, serving every customer well and making customers feel the real good of our hotel. I didn't understand or want to at first, but now I like this job. When I saw that the guests I served also smiled at me and said "thank you", the silent joy in my heart was really full. When you see that the guests are satisfied with our service and full of praise for us, you will really have a sense of accomplishment, just like you have a series of problems. Happiness comes from my heart. Even if this day is very tired, tired and hard, it is worthwhile, because I have done a good job. I really learned a lot during my internship in the hotel, and I can directly turn my professional knowledge into practical ability, which is probably a great gain. It is also fun to know what you will do in the future and experience it in advance.

Although the internship was very hard during this period, I learned to look at and experience it from the perspective of the profession itself, instead of thinking that they really don't work hard if they don't work hard. The biggest feeling is that it is best to experience it yourself like others. Everyone's life is not easy, and more understanding and consideration is the greatest help to work. The internship in March has passed, and there are still several months of internships. I hope I can do better and learn more.
