When did Samuel Hui leave?

Samuel Hui quit on 1992.

During the period of 1992, Samuel Hui held a unique concert at the Regent Hotel, named Samuel Hui Glorious Retirement Concert.

The reason why this concert is special is that the audience at the scene are all famous singers and movie stars in the entertainment circle, as well as big coffee figures like directors, and ordinary audiences are not invited to participate.

Samuel Hui was born in 1948 and just turned 44 in 1992. It should be said that he was in his prime, but why did Samuel Hui announce his retirement?

In fact, there is no official explanation for this issue, and Samuel Hui has not made it clear. Maybe his life reached a certain period and he made a new choice.

However, many critics believe that Samuel Hui has achieved great success in that period, and there is no need to prove his status.

The reason for coming back

Around 2003, Hong Kong experienced the outbreak of SARS and the death of several music superstars such as Amy Tan, Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui. Then in 2004, 56-year-old Samuel Hui wrote "04 Blessing You" and "Keep Smiling" and announced his comeback. He held 38 concerts of "Keep Smiling Live".

The reason for coming back is simple. He said, because I saw my friends in Hong Kong unhappy, I hope to see you and bring you joy. During his comeback concert, Samuel Hui seemed to live in the Red Pavilion. At noon, he went to the Red Pavilion to run and play music. In the afternoon, he auditioned and practiced his voice. At eight o'clock in the evening, he started on time. His personal rehearsal time accumulated more than 200 hours, setting a new record.
