Why is Xishan Mountain in Kunming a breakup mountain?

Hello, Kunming Xishan is lush with ancient trees, including Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, many ancient temples and Taoist temples in Longmen, Sanqing Pavilion, Buddha sculpture, cliff stone carving, Nie Er tomb and other ancient and modern places of interest, and many literati chanted. Looking at Xishan from downtown Kunming is like a beautiful woman lying on her back on the bank of Dianchi Lake. It has all kinds of folklore around love. No matter whether the legendary heroine is a princess, a village girl or a peasant woman, the final outcome is to be separated from her lover, tears flow into Dianchi Lake for 500 miles, and people fall into the sleeping beauty-Xishan. These tragic legends have played a psychological role in people's hearts.

In fact, the origin of these legends was produced after the free love between men and women was banned by various means in the old society. It also implies people's pursuit of freedom and love.

Standing on the western hill overlooking Dianchi Lake, the wind under your arm is ethereal, which makes people feel detached from the world of mortals. This is also the original intention of many temples to choose Xishan for thousands of years. In Buddhist legends, the West symbolizes the Elysium, and the West Mountain is located in the west of Kunming. With such scenery, it is naturally a natural treasure to promote Buddhism. Regrettably, for a long time, there was a certain misunderstanding about Buddhism, thinking that Buddhism would make people see through the world of mortals and abandon their feelings. Even because of the words such as "driving a crane westward" in folk spoken language, there are certain taboos on "westward". For example, when old Kunming people play mahjong, it is considered unlucky that four people can't play "West" at the same time.

None of the above understandings are correct. One of the moral standards that Buddhists abide by is to make Buddhism benefit all beings, have feelings for people and make people happy. In a wedding photography shop in Kunming, there is a contemporary Kunming monk who wrote four characters "Forever and ever" for the newlyweds, wishing them happiness. The orientation of the west, here, is originally a direction with beautiful yearning, and these derived taboos are too unfounded.

From ancient times to the present, the folk custom of "March 3, playing in the Western Hills" in Kunming is the March 3 of "March 3, sunny, and beautiful by Chang 'an Waterfront" in Du Fu's poem "Er Cheng". In ancient China, people bathed in incense on this day, and men and women went to the river to sing and find their partners. There are lyrics of love songs at that time in The Book of Songs.

Folk songs such as "Da Shan Diao" that have been circulated in Kunming so far are proof that young men and women who are rarely bound by feudal ethics know each other and love each other on the western hills.

There is the former site of Taihuafeng weather station "Yide weather station" on the western hill. This meteorological station was built by China and Yunnan meteorological pioneer Chen Yide (1886- 1958). In the process of his struggle, his wife Liu always followed him. Liu was the first coolie and Chen Yide's assistant. The physical evidence of this love is a "star map" drawn by Chen Yide, embroidered by his wife Liu. This loving science textbook and historical relics are now in the Yunnan Provincial Library. The burial tomb of Chen Yide and his wife is also near the "one-to-one weather station", which makes future generations deeply feel their perfect love.

Xishan is full of pursuit and praise for love. The saying that "all shall be well, jack shall have Jill" is an unfounded superstition in contemporary times, not a kind of helplessness that modern people have accelerated their emotional changes in recent years.
