History of Guangzhou Mansion Villa Hostel

The predecessor of Villa Hostel is Su's ancestral hall "Yuexi Temple" built by Su Dongpo's grandson and the right prime minister of Southern Song Dynasty. In the early Ming Dynasty, it was rebuilt into a famous "Yuexi Academy" in Lingnan and became a gathering place for celebrities and scholars.

In 2005, it was rated as the best ecological garden hotel and the top ten most attractive hotels in Guangdong Province.

The completed villa guest house has received many party and state leaders. The State Council Prime Minister Zhou Enlai and Vice Premier Chen Yi held a major state event in the villa. Vice Chairman Dong went down to the villa twice with the title "Villa Guest House"; General Secretary Deng Xiaoping also visited the villa for a rest.
