Brief introduction of Taiyuan villa

Taiyuan Villa was built in the 1920s and is located in Taiyuan Road, Xuhui District.

Taiyuan Villa consists of a main building and four annex buildings, surrounded by gardens, with a total area of12,680 square meters, including a building area of 2,050 square meters and a garden area of 8,780 square meters. It was originally a private garden villa of French lawyer Diboke, named Diboke Garden. It was designed and built in 1928 by Dubai, imitating the building of Louis XIV Palace in France. It is a French palace-style garden house in the Renaissance, and is known as the classic of French architecture in Shanghai. It is said that the main building materials of this villa are all shipped from France, and the furniture inside is also made in France.

The main building of Taiyuan Villa has three floors, facing southwest. This building with yellow walls and blue tiles stands quietly on the unusually neat lawn. There are several snow-white rattan chairs and small marble piers scattered on the lawn, which is full of strong French sentiment. The spacious porch at the entrance to the ground floor of the building is supported by three magnificent Doric columns. Above the porch is an open-air balcony. There is a European classical fireplace in the wall of the long window, and the chimney protrudes from the roof. The house has a four-slope roof, which is slightly steep. There are five tiger skylights in Baroque style and Napoleon helmet style in the front of the roof, and a castle-like conical roof in the northwest elevation, which makes this villa in the city center a bit solemn and mysterious. On both sides of the south colonnade, there are a pair of stone lions guarding this exotic building, which combines the cultural elements of China traditional architecture.

The entrance of the building is on the Dongshan wall of the house, and there are three transparent gatehouses. Entering the room from the automatic glass door on the east side of the villa is an elegant and gorgeous hall. The floor of the hall is paved with marble, surrounded by teak walls and inlaid with huge colorful ceramic murals. A huge crystal chandelier was installed at the top of the hall, which lit up the wall at night. On the left side of the hall is a well-furnished living room with a special decorative copper chandelier hanging from the top. Next to the living room is a Chinese and western restaurant, with an area of about 100 square meter. The characters and scenery in China's classical novels A Dream of Red Mansions and Romance of the Three Kingdoms are all carved on movable screens for partition.

Down the spiral staircase, the second floor is Marshall's bedroom. There is a set of mahogany furniture in the elegantly decorated room during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Through a small door from the inside, it is the study used by the general, which stores important documents and letters. The room facing north on the second floor used to be Marshall's entourage's office, and the third floor was the entourage's living room.

The environment is elegant and excellent, and the lawn environment is secret and independent. At present, Taiyuan Villa has different types of characteristic rooms, 65,438+06 serviced apartments and its own fitness center, including indoor heated swimming pool, gym, sauna and squash court.
