What should I do if I travel to Korea without knowing Korean?
I travel alone in Seoul. A map of Seoul subway, a sentence "How much is it" in Korean guarantees that you can travel to Korea without Korean.
The following is my own free travel strategy in Korea, I hope it will help you.
In terms of transportation, after arriving at the Korean airport, you can take the bus to the city, take the airport high-speed train to the subway in South Korea, or take a taxi.
It is recommended to do two things after arriving at the airport:
First, if you stay for a long time and want to contact your family, you can borrow your mobile phone from the airport counter. China's mobile phone doesn't work in Korea. There are counters for borrowing mobile phones at Korean airports, but you need to pay by credit card, which is quite convenient anyway.
Second, you must go to the airport counter to get a map, preferably a map of Japan. The subway route map on the map of Japan is bigger and clearer. Remember, when traveling in Seoul, the subway is the most important travel tool. Without a subway map, you can't play. I remember the map was placed at the leftmost exit in the direction of the airport, which seems to be Gate 2. I don't remember the details. Find it yourself.
Then how to get to the city, as mentioned above, by bus, by high-speed rail and by taxi. When I go, I take the airport high-speed train, so I can buy tickets first. Is the high-speed train one stop or two stops? Anyway, I took the last stop, from Incheon Airport to Gimpo Airport, and then changed to the subway. By the way, I got on the airport high-speed train and bought a transportation card at a convenience store. Remember to buy a transportation card to recharge. Because South Korea travels by subway, it is inconvenient to have no transportation card, and some subway stations that are a little farther away have no manual ticket sales. I went for four days and three nights and spent more than 20 thousand won on transportation. You can recharge it at the convenience store first, and then find a convenience store to recharge it. The card can be returned, but it will take 10 days. I suggest you charge as much as you want.
I have never been on a bus, so I don't know. Every subway station in Korea has a number. Don't be afraid of not knowing the name of the station, and don't be afraid of going in the wrong direction or passing the station. Another tip is that the subway station in South Korea is dug deep. If you want to transfer to the subway line, be prepared to climb the mountain. No one can eat in the subway, and don't sit in the old, weak and sick seats, because there is no one in Korea except the elderly!
Taxi? I think the price is similar to that of Shanghai, but I don't know how much it is different from your home. Taxis in Korea have three colors, white, silver, black and black is the best. South Korea called a model taxi, but I asked my friends in Korea what the difference was, and my friends told me it was the price difference. The starting fee and the price per kilometer of black are much more expensive than white and silver. It is not recommended that you choose black unless you go to the outer suburbs by car or bike in the middle of the night.
In terms of currency exchange:
Do you want to change money? I suggest you change two or three hundred dollars at the Bank of China, which is enough for your fare to South Korea. The main money is still exchanged in Korea. South Korea's exchange places are called two exchange places, and the exchange rate in the scenic spot will not be too high. I suggest you ask two more places which exchange rate is higher and which exchange rate is higher. There should be a guide on the internet saying which exchange rate is high. Check it yourself. I met a two-way communication on my way to Nanshan Tower. The exchange rate is quite high.
Life:
I don't think it's necessary to book a hotel or anything. There are private hotels on many paths in the city, which are cheap and good. The law and order in Korea is quite good. I don't think there's any need to worry. You can check this online yourself. But I suggest you book a hotel in the city. Last time I booked it in the suburbs, I spent a lot of time on the subway every day.
Shopping:
Girls like shopping. Korean cosmetics are extremely cheap, so I mainly go to Myeongdong to buy cosmetics. Every store has people from China who are not afraid of bad communication. My suggestion is to sell more paper masks, which are super cheap. You can make other things yourself, which are cheap anyway, whether it's skin care products or cosmetics. I can't remember the brand at once. Please call me again if you have any questions.
As for the scenic spots, I have hardly been to those scenic spots in Korean history, so I don't recommend them, but I strongly recommend Nanshan Tower, Myeongdong, Cheonggyecheon and Lotte World.
There is a lover's wall and a teddy bear hall on the Nanshan Tower, but it opens at ten o'clock. Don't go too early. However, it is steep to go to Nanshan Tower by cable car, so be prepared to climb the mountain.
Myeongdong is a must-see place for Korean fashion shopping.
Lotte is the largest amusement park in Korea, which is very fun. It is a skating rink that often appears in Korean dramas. Lott suggested that you go at night. It seems that there is a half-price discount for tickets after 7: 30, and there is a float parade. After buying tickets, you can buy tickets directly except for 3-5 very exciting sports, such as pirate ships. And the night light inside is very beautiful at night. I suggest Lotte play all day, but I think it's enough to go at night unless you want to play a particularly big game. In addition, the paid items are very exciting, but there are also many people waiting in line.
Qingxichuan is suitable for going at night, and the lights are beautiful. Sitting by the stream is romantic and suitable for couples.
Ps: Shopping has a south gate and a north gate. South gate is a specialty. I don't think there's anything to buy, except ginseng, pickles, seaweed and citron tea. Choose carefully if you want to buy it. People there will pay a high price because you are a foreigner. The north gate buys clothes very late and is open all night. Those who want to buy clothes can go and have a look.
Diet:
I have nothing to recommend in this respect. Korean food is very spicy and seafood is very fishy. A friend once ordered ginseng chicken soup in a shop in Myeongdong. As a result, as soon as he came up, there was a whole black-bone chicken in a bowl with a large washbasin. The chicken was stuffed with a lot of glutinous rice and was exhausted. But most of them are normal. When you arrive in Korea, you must eat Korean barbecue. I remember there is a street near Qingxichuan, where there are many restaurants at night.
Finally, a few tips:
1, Koreans like nightlife. In the afternoon 12, the streets are brightly lit and crowded. We once went to have a barbecue. It was after eleven o'clock, and it was extremely lively there.
You don't have to get up too early during the day. Many scenic spots and shopping streets open after ten o'clock, and no one goes early.
There are no handsome guys and beautiful women in the car during the day. Going out at night depends on the advice of handsome guys and beautiful women.
4. If you go to Korea, you must know one sentence, that is, "How much?" !
5. The vicinity of Ewha Women's University is beautiful. Things are fashionable, but a little expensive.
6. Coffee shops and donut shops in Korea are also very cheap and can be eaten, but most of them should put their own dishes away and put them in the places set by the store.
7. There is no counterfeit money in Korea, so you can exchange money with confidence.
8. There are few thieves in Korea. I went to a coffee shop and saw many people put their bags directly on the chairs to buy things.
9. Department stores in Korea are visited by elderly women. There are almost no young girls in the restaurants of department stores, and there are no price tags on the items!
