Intercontinental has been preparing for this event for one year, and invested 350,000 US dollars in personnel training and marketing alone. According to the statistics of Intercontinental Group, the proportion of customers who booked online was only 2% to 3% three years ago, and now it has risen to 8%. The growth of 5% has become a new bright spot for the growth of intercontinental tourists.

InterContinental Hotels Group is also the first foreign hotel group to enter the timeshare hotel market in China. Intercontinental management and export of Beijing Zhong Da Timeshare Service Co., Ltd. pioneered the entry of foreign hotel groups into the domestic timeshare market.

The rise of mass tourism in China has spawned a huge market for budget hotels. Intercontinental Hotels Group has also begun to look for the opportunity of "ExpressByHolidayInn" brand in China market, and plans to set it up in Hongkong and Xi 'an.

InterContinental Hotels Group actively seeks cooperation with domestic airlines, and recently signed an alliance partnership agreement with China Southern Airlines. According to the contract, members of IHG and China Southern Airlines Pearl Card will be able to earn or redeem air miles or reward points by flying on more than 40 partner airlines or staying in 3,500 hotels under the IHG. IHG has also signed similar alliance and cooperation agreements with domestic Shanghai Airlines and Air China. The cooperation between IHG and domestic airlines has greatly expanded its market network.
