Legal analysis: As a business unit, hotels have the obligation to protect consumers' personal and property safety in terms of facilities, equipment and staffing. If consumers can point out that the hotel is obviously at fault, the hotel will bear the responsibility within the fault range. If the guest fails to provide evidence to prove that he has explained to the hotel that the stored items are valuable and valuable, the hotel's custody responsibility is limited to a reasonable range, and the excess will not be supported.

Legal basis: Article 894 of the Civil Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the custodian shall not transfer the deposit to a third party for safekeeping, unless otherwise agreed by the parties. Where the depository, in violation of the provisions of the preceding paragraph, transfers the deposit to a third person for safekeeping, thus causing losses to the deposit, it shall be liable for compensation.
