Can I stay in a hotel without an ID card?
You can't. According to the hotel check-in regulations, you can't check in without an ID card, but you can use temporary id card, police officer's card, passport, driver's license, social security card, residence permit, military officer's card and soldier's card to check in. The resident ID card of the People's Republic of China is a proof of citizenship to prove that you live in People's Republic of China (PRC).
