Sixtieth Anniversary of Glory-Essay Collection on Great Changes in Jianghuai
Reading "Sixty Glorious Years - Great Changes in Jianghuai"
When I first held the book "Sixty Glorious Years - Great Changes in Jianghuai", I was filled with excitement I opened it out of curiosity. After reading a paragraph, I couldn't help but read it eagerly. When I finished reading this book, I couldn't help but sigh: The changes in my hometown are so great nowadays. Like a city.
Nowadays, the living standards of farmers in my hometown have been greatly improved. Not only does every household have air conditioners and mobile phones, but some people even have computers and cars. It’s incredible! In the past, in rural areas, let alone computers, I’m afraid they didn’t even watch TV! The road is also a dirt road. Whenever it rains, it turns into a mud road. Nowadays, the houses are no longer the thatched houses they used to be. They are all built with small western-style buildings. If you come to my hometown, you will definitely feel that the city has moved here!
What makes the farmer uncles most happy is that they don’t have to pay taxes for farming! What a thankful thing this is! I heard from my parents that not only do you not have to pay taxes on farming now, but the state also provides subsidies! They wouldn't have dared to think about it in the past.
Another happy thing is that now we don’t have to pay tuition and fees when we go to school! Since 2006, the country has waived tuition and miscellaneous fees. Each of our children can sit in a spacious and bright classroom to read and write, and use our wisdom to open up a treasure house of knowledge. I feel extremely proud and honored to live in such an era...
In the past, there was a saying in my hometown: "When the ambulance rang, a pig "It's all for nothing." Now, farmers have participated in medical insurance and no longer have to worry about medical treatment. Isn't this a happy event? I often think: It would be great if my grandmother was still alive and could enjoy such good treatment!
Of course, the great changes in the Jianghuai River are not only reflected in agriculture, but also in the rapid progress of industry; the step-by-step advancement in science and technology; the brilliance in literature and art... In short, in the past sixty years, the motherland has has become prosperous and powerful, and our Anhui is also developing. I will study hard now. When I grow up, I will be like a poplar tree. I will take root wherever I am needed, become a glorious builder, and make the motherland more prosperous.
