Is it 1408 Phantom Murder Room? Adapted from Stephen King's novel of the same name, directed by Michael Haverstrom and starring john cusack, Samuel Jackson and mary mccormack.

The hero, Mike Anselin (john cusack), is a horror novelist. Mike plays pranks as a profession and is an atheist through and through on weekdays. In order to finish his new book, Mike decided to stay in a haunted room for ten days, but he was bold and finally chose the most gloomy dolphin hotel/room Kloc-0/408. Gerald Olin (samuel jackson), the hotel manager, takes out dozens of photos of bizarre deaths in that room over the years to persuade Mike not to take risks, but Mike is indifferent and insists on his choice.

After moving into room 1408, a bizarre phenomenon made Mike completely change his outlook on life of ghosts and gods. A lot of real horror experiences have indeed accumulated material for Mike's new book, but the key is that he must get out of that room alive first.
