Duyun Maojian tea is also called Duyun fine Maojian and Baimaojian. It is produced in Duyun City in southern Guizhou. According to historical records, as early as the Ming Dynasty, the "Fish Hook Tea" and "Quick Tongue Tea" produced in Duyun were listed as "tributes" to the imperial court. It is listed as one of China's famous tea treasures with its beautiful appearance and unique style. It sells well all over the country, and people from far and near are eager to buy it. In 1982, it was rated as a national famous tea. The fragrance of tea spreads thousands of miles, attracting visitors from home and abroad. Yunmaojian tea production has a long history, dating back more than 500 years. As early as the Ming Dynasty, it was listed as a good product for tribute. Duyun Maojian uses one or two unexpanded leaves that have just grown within a few days before and after the Qingming Festival. The leaves are required to be small, short, thin, and evenly green. Those whose tenderness and length exceed the standard, those that are damaged by diseases and insect pests, and those with purple color cannot be used to make Maojian tea. Duyun Maojian tea is carefully made through four processes: high-temperature greening, low-temperature rolling, rolling into balls to extract texture, and timely roasting. Duyun Maojian is famous for its "three greens and three yellows" characteristics: "the dry tea is green with yellow, the soup is green with yellow, and the bottom of the leaves is green with yellow". The finished Maojian tea buds are thin and cord-shaped, with many pekoe, bright green color, smooth quality, fresh and tender aroma, mellow taste and sweet aftertaste.
