What are the interesting places in Taiyuan?

Taiyuan is the capital of Shanxi Province, bordering on Fenhe River and surrounded by mountains on three sides. Known as "Splendid Taiyuan City" since ancient times, it is rich in tourism resources. Here, I would like to recommend some tourist attractions in Taiyuan.

1. Jinci Temple is located on the Jinshui River at the foot of Diaoweng Mountain, 25 kilometers southwest of Taiyuan City. This shrine was built by later generations to commemorate Tang Shuyu, the founding emperor of the State of Jin, and it is also the ancestral hall of the State of Jin. As the saying goes, "if you don't reach Jinci, you will be in Taiyuan." There are dozens of ancient buildings in the shrine, which is famous for its magnificent architecture and superb statue art.

2. "Looking at Shanxi in 5,000 years' history", the Shanxi Museum, located in Binhe West Road, Taiyuan City, gathers the essence of Shanxi cultural relics. Shanxi Museum consists of a main museum and four-corner annex buildings, in which the main museum is shaped like a bucket and a tripod, and it is the main place for tourists to visit the collections in the courtyard.

3. Fenhe Park is a waterfront park formed after water conservancy management and greening and beautification in Taiyuan urban section of Fenhe River, with a total length of more than 18km. The park is long and narrow, with roads on one side and clear Fenhe water on the other. A large number of trees are planted in the park, and green grasslands are surrounded by stones, forming a green ecological corridor along the Fenhe River.

The height of Mengshan Giant Buddha from the bottom of its leg to its neck is about 30 meters. According to the proportion and the height of the Buddha's head, the original height of the giant Buddha is about 46 meters. There are three architectural relics on the platform in front of the giant Buddha, and the threshold and mound are still there. There are turtles in the north of the relic, and the monument has been lost. There are many small stone caves on the west wall of the Buddhist shrine, which are used to embed beams and purlins when building the Buddhist temple. On the east side of the big Buddha niche, there is also a cliff monument and the remains of two caves on the cliff surface.
