Reconstruction and expansion project design of building 8 of Rongyuan Hotel in Hunan Province.

Hunan Rongyuan Hotel is located at Rongyuan Road 1, Changsha City. It is adjacent to the Provincial Party Committee Courtyard in the west and Station North Road in the east, and belongs to the reception room of Hunan Provincial Party Committee. Mainly responsible for the reception service of important meetings of the provincial party Committee, and undertake the reception tasks of important foreign guests, party and state leaders and important guests of the provincial party Committee. Rongyuan covers an area of 230 mu, with a total construction area of over 30,000 square meters. It is surrounded by water on three sides and is lush with trees. More than ten elegant and chic low-rise hotel buildings are hidden in green bushes, quiet and elegant, and are known as Diaoyutai in Hunan. At the beginning of last century, it was the private garden of Hunan politicians. Since 1950s, it has become a place where Hunan receives party and state leaders and foreign heads of state. In 2006, in order to expand the function and scale of the hotel and improve the service level, according to the requirements of the owner, our institute undertook a number of renovation and expansion projects of Rong Yuan Hotel, including the renovation and expansion requirements of Building No.8, which was designed according to the standards of four-star hotels, keeping the main structure of the guest rooms in Building No.8 and improving the conference and catering facilities. After the renovation and expansion design, the total construction area of Building No.8 has expanded to more than 1 10,000 square meters, and some new structures are reinforced concrete frame structures, with the seismic grade of 6 degrees and the building fire resistance grade of 1 grade. 1 Design concept Building 8 of Rongyuan Hotel is located in the middle of Rongyuan, surrounded by buildings such as 1, Building 7 and sports complex. There are rockeries, ponds and 10 big camphor trees on the east side of the original lot, and the environment is unique. Concept of scheme design: firstly, fully respect the existing environmental characteristics of Rongyuan. Taking the elegant environment of Rongyuan as the background, the treatment of building size and spatial scale should start with respecting the environment. Environment is the protagonist, architecture is the supporting role, and it is a subordinate position. At the same time, the new building will have a meaningful dialogue with the existing environment, and pay attention to the harmonious relationship between the color, type, elements and space of the new building and the adjacent buildings and environment. Secondly, make full use of modern design techniques and modern scientific and technological means, carry out people-oriented planning and design, strive for humanization, ecology, harmony between architecture and environment, and reflect the elegance and tranquility of garden-style state guesthouse. The design method of building ecological energy saving should be adopted reasonably according to local conditions. In terms of nature, ventilation, lighting, creating a good indoor environment and comfort, planning and design should do a good job in the scheme stage and create good conditions. 2 Overall design The newly-built part of Building No.8 in Rongyuan relies on the existing reserved guest room building and expands to the south and east. On the premise of protecting the existing ecological environment to the maximum extent, the new buildings are organically interspersed, maintaining the external distance and spatial relationship with the newly-built sports complex in the south, and retaining some trees with reserved value in the east and south. In the overall design, the building is also avoided accordingly, so that the whole building after reconstruction and expansion is in harmony with the environment and the overall ecological environment is obtained. The main entrance of the expansion building and guest room building is located on the north side, and the employee entrance is located on the south side of the building. Traffic flow lines are clear and do not interfere with each other. There are 7-meter-wide passages in the east, south and north directions of the building, which are connected with the main entrance and the secondary door. There are special parking lots in the east and north directions, which can park more than 100 cars and meet the requirements of related facilities. 3. Monomer design 3. 1 Functional design: Building 8 of Rongyuan is functionally integrated with the extension on the basis of the original three-story guest room. As a transportation hub, the public lobby connects the guest rooms with the expanded supporting rooms for meetings, restaurants and other functions. On the original basis, design the guest room building and lobby to be reserved, further improve the existing functions, and add supporting rooms and facilities, such as linen room, luggage room, boiling water room, disinfection room, staff lounge and elevator. The expansion part is divided into two floors above ground and a semi-underground floor, and its main functions are distributed. There is a banquet hall in the center of the first floor, 1 banquet hall for 400 people. There is a VIP reception room near the lobby in the surrounding corridor, and more than 10 VIP boxes are arranged in the west and south directions of the inner courtyard respectively. The main kitchen is located on the east side of the banquet hall, which is connected with the banquet hall through the inner ring corridor. The lobby bar (tea room, coffee shop) is arranged next to the lobby, and it is also conveniently connected with the catering part. Semi-basement is the rough machining and warehouse of supporting rooms and kitchens for hotel service personnel. There are 300 multi-function halls in the center of the second floor, 1, two central meeting rooms along the surrounding corridor, 1 Chinese restaurant (also cafeteria) and several VIP boxes. The first and second floors of the expansion part adopt two rectangular banquet halls and multi-function halls, which are closely connected with the lobby and guest rooms, realizing the organic connection and integration of various functions. 3.2 The architectural space and exterior modeling architectural space adopt the traditional design elements and techniques of China, and skillfully combine space elements such as courtyard, lighting patio, cloister and covered bridge with functional space to create. For example, the main courtyard adjacent to the banquet hall is surrounded by a rectangular layout with cloisters up and down. The design takes waterscape as the theme, and organically combines the tortuous wooden plank road, plants, lamps, chairs and other small object elements. In addition, the covered bridge flying over the courtyard spans the east and west ends of the second floor, which seems to constitute a picture of the deep oriental elements in the courtyard. In addition, the upper and lower floors of the inner corridor around the main courtyard are all enclosed by high-altitude hollow glass point curtain walls, which makes visitors feel different when walking in the corridor. In addition to the inner corridor, there is also the design of the outer corridor, which combines the main functional rooms, such as the VIP room, and narrows the distance between architecture and nature. This kind of traditional elements such as internal and external corridors, patios, courtyards, covered bridges and plank roads penetrate and blend with the external landscape space, which has produced vivid and poetic space effects here. Another example is the design of the inner corridor, in which multiple lighting patios are inserted from the vertical height, so that the upper and lower corridors are bathed in the rhythmic changes of light and shadow, and the turning corridor is the end point in the horizontal depth, and the natural scenery is used as the background and scenery of the corridor space in a framed way, which also adds some vitality and interest to the corridor space. And every floor-to-ceiling window in the VIP room around the corridor is also a natural landscape painting. When the viewer opens the curtains, the surrounding forest and water features will immediately come to my face, which will be a pleasant feeling. Generally speaking, architectural modeling emphasizes appropriate building volume, scale and harmony with the existing environment. Following the principle that the overall environment comes first, and the building obeys the scale of the big environment background, the external modeling design takes into account the original architectural style of the guest room, and can also echo and talk with the existing buildings around it. The design adopts sloping roof, cornice colonnade, corner window, point window, balcony and other elements. Strive to reflect the image of a modern state guesthouse with horizontal stretching, patchwork, changing light and shadow, rich rhythm, fresh and elegant, simple and lively. 3.3 Traffic Streamline The traffic streamline design of Rongyuan Building No.8 reconstruction and expansion project is based on functional zoning. The passenger flow line is: the entrance on the first floor-the lobby-the lane from the west side of the lobby to the rooms on each floor (or from the elevator in the lobby to the rooms on each floor). On the south side of the lobby, you can reach the banquet hall for 400 people through the lobby, or reach the VIP box through the corridor on the west and south side of the main courtyard. There are stairs at the east and west ends of the banquet hall for vertical communication between the upper and lower floors, and then through the lobby and inner corridor of the multifunctional hall on the second floor to the multifunctional hall with 300 people, the conference room in the middle and several VIP boxes. Streamline of staff: some staff in the guest room enter from the west entrance of the original guest room building and arrive at the workshops on all floors of the guest room through the stairs at the west end. Some catering and conference staff enter the staff changing and resting area from the southeast staff entrance of the new building, go to the semi-underground floor through the special stairs, and then reach the service area and kitchen through the special passage connecting the east and west special stairs. The traffic streamline design of the reconstruction and expansion project has realized the complete diversion and non-interference between passengers and staff, and obviously improved the overall service level of Rongyuan Building 8. 3.4 Building Ecology and Energy Saving The design of the reconstruction and expansion project of Rongyuan No.8 Building adheres to the principle of green ecology and energy saving. First, on the basis of the original environment, valuable landscape resources such as arbor plants, pond water surface, sparse forest and grassland have been preserved and integrated, and the original ecology of the existing environment has been maintained to the maximum extent. Architectural design incorporates courtyard patio, corridor, sloping roof, skylight, high side window and other elements, which not only enriches the internal and external space environment of the building, but also adopts traditional low-tech ecological means and modern new technologies in structural technical measures, and has achieved substantial results. For example, the theme of trees, vegetation, ponds and waterscape courtyards around the building is combined with the internal space of the building to create an open and pleasant external ecological environment suitable for the regional climate. This design also creates conditions for maintaining and further optimizing the unique microclimate environment of Rongyuan. In addition, the application of courtyard, cloister, patio, skylight, large space high side window, semi-basement lighting high window and other elements in the reconstruction and expansion design greatly improved the natural lighting inside the building, saved a lot of artificial lighting energy consumption and optimized the light environment inside the building. In the design of natural ventilation, the effective natural ventilation between Peking University Hall, Central Courtyard, ventilation grille of heat-insulated glass curtain wall and functional rooms in the south is organized by using the principle of through flow. The design of electric sunshade and high side window above the multifunctional hall on the second floor adopts the principle of hot pressing, and the sunshade and high side window are opened in summer night. Because the hot air floats, the cold fresh air at the bottom quickly forms convection, thus improving ventilation and effectively reducing the temperature in large spaces. In winter, when the sunshade curtain is opened and the high side window is closed, the sun can shine indoors, which can improve the indoor temperature of the multifunctional large space and achieve the purpose of energy saving.
