How to get to Moon Island from Changsha West Railway Station

The routes there are: ① Take bus No. 12 or No. 312 from the train station to Gaoyetang. Then you can take the No. 318 bus to the North Campus of the Business School and get off and walk for about half an hour to see it. Moon Island ② Take 903 to Purui Hot Spring and get off, then walk for ten minutes. Note: If there is no 318 or 903 at the train station, you can take 305 or 202 to Gaoyetang and transfer to the above bus. However, I personally recommend taking the first route, taking the bus to the terminal of 318, and then walking along the road for about half an hour. You can also take a motorcycle, which can be bargained down to 5 yuan to take you to Moon Island.

Moon Island is located 10 kilometers north of the city, on the west side of the main channel of the Xiangjiang River, facing Eyang Mountain to the east and Gushan to the west. Originally named Yaobuzhou, it was named Xujiazhou because a family named Xu farmed here in the Ming Dynasty; and because it is shaped like a crescent moon, it has gradually acquired this charming nickname in recent years. The island is 4980 meters long, with an average width of about 400 meters and a widest point of more than 800 meters, with a total area of ??more than 3300 acres.

As I approached the island, I could see reeds everywhere and the occasional forgotten boat. I also met 8 grazing horses on the road. There were no reins around their necks and there were no horses nearby. People looked after them, and they were all leisurely and contented, soaking in the muddy water because of the heat. It was very interesting. There is no admission fee for Moon Island. The water around the island is very clear. The only way to get to the island is a man-made cement bridge that connects to the mainland. and Moon Island. The island is uneven and covered with green grass. In this season, there are also unknown purple flowers. There are cattle, horses and sheep scattered on the island. There is a kind of horse specially designed for people to ride. There are 5 of them. It’s a little pony. The one all in white seems to be its relative. I don’t know if it’s the father or the mother. In short, it always runs behind it. Except for a black horse that is more violent, the other horses seem to be tired of being beaten. In the life of riding a circle, everyone is lazy, and he refuses to move even if he is riding on its back. So in the end I didn’t ride a horse, but if I rode on it, it would definitely feel like being on the Mongolian steppe, haha. So it was really a pity not to ride a horse when we arrived at Moon Island. But speaking of it, Moon Island is an excellent barbecue holy place. Students from several universities in the city always meet to ride bicycles to Moon Island for barbecue parties. They find a suitable place to dig a hole, find firewood, and sprinkle a bunch of seasonings. Whether it was cooked or not, everyone ate it with gusto. After all, it was beautiful and delicious! Because Moon Island is in the middle of the Xiangjiang River, the edge of the island is full of water, and most of it is covered with tall reeds. A person quietly stares at the water in a daze, imagining whether the floating boats are full of legends. The Moon The deepest feeling given by the island is tranquility, so many Changsha people like to drive to the island to relax for a day.

There is no place to stay near Moon Island, and the 318 bus terminal is around 9:30 pm, so it is recommended that you take the bus to find a guest house near the University Town in Hexi, the better one is around 50, generally It's all 20 or 30, and the room is clean.

The bus fare is 1 yuan, totaling 2 yuan. It is recommended to buy a bunch of food or barbecue in the supermarket before going there. There is no place selling food nearby.
