What is a code word?

A codeword has two meanings:

(1). Words or actions that imply a certain meaning.

The words in Chen Weisong's "Huanxisha to Wang Lang" in the Qing Dynasty: "If you don't understand the secret language, you can reflect the column and bother your ileum."

Qu Qiubai's "History of Chidu Heart" 34: "The bell of Christ Savior's temple vibrates and echoes from time to time in the glass window, as if it were sometimes a code word, and my nerves are hinted by him."

(2) refers to the agreed words used for secret exchange of information.

Reading Spring and Autumn in a Small Town for the fifteenth time: "He went to the bookstore to buy some newly published magazines, and when he came back, he rushed to write some secret letters instead of code words."
