Sanya is undoubtedly the most popular destination for traveling to Hainan in winter.

And how popular is Sanya? Some people say that Sanya in winter is a "winter resort", which attracts many tourists from the north, especially from the northeast.

But compared with my trip to Sanya, I have a deeper impression of Haikou. Although I didn't go much, I felt the sea, beach and sunshine every time I went to Sanya Resort Hotel, and Haikou was more urban.

Haikou, also known as "Coconut City", is located in the north of Hainan Island, guarding the mouth of Nandu River and facing Leizhou Peninsula in Guangdong across Qiongzhou Strait. It has a history of thousands of years since the opening of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is a southern coastal city with beautiful seaside scenery.

Although it is not full of tropical atmosphere all year round like Sanya, its urban temperament is deep and tenacious. Some people say that Haikou is Haikou for local people and Sanya is Sanya for foreigners.

Haikou is a city that grows slowly in time. The first time I entered the sea, it was a cruise ship many years ago. The return port is in Haikou. I stayed for a short night and then left in a hurry. I didn't drink my father's tea or eat Wenchang chicken.

Until the second and third time after many years. Although the journey was not so slow, at least I saw Haikou "deeply".

The word "Haikou" first appeared in the Song Dynasty and has a history of nearly a thousand years. It means the floodplain at the mouth of Nandujiang River. Most of the coastal slopes here are gentle, the coastline is open and continuous, and the sand is fine and white. There are Holiday Beach, Baishamen Beach, Xixiu Beach, Yingbin Peninsula Beach and Dongzhai Port Coastal Beach.

Among them, the Binhai Avenue in Haikou impressed me the most. Its positioning is a comprehensive urban trunk road integrating the functions of transportation, life and tourism, and it is also one of the important windows reflecting Haikou's urban characteristics.

This "window" attracts me deeply. Twilight is low and the lights are brightly lit. A person walks along Binhai Avenue with headphones on, enjoying the comfortable and quiet sea wind and the charming city scenery.

If I didn't forget to bring a pair of sneakers, I would run along the beach like a local. When I sat on a bench under a coconut tree and looked at runners, cyclists and pushers, I suddenly found that the city was lively and enthusiastic in addition to being deep and tenacious.

For Haikou, the most impressive places are Qilou Old Street, Haida Night Market, Lei Qiong World Geopark and Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park. As far as flavor is concerned, Qingbuliang and seafood are really unforgettable.

The arcade old street should be the most famous historical and cultural block in Haikou and the most distinctive street landscape in Haikou. Sipailou, the oldest building, was built in the Southern Song Dynasty and is one of the places that tourists must visit when they first come to Haikou.

Qilou Old Street is a quaint block that has been precipitated by time. It should be slow here, but the rampage of electric cars seems to disrupt the rhythm here, but it exudes the most real life atmosphere.

Maybe it's too early. There are not many tourists in the old street, and many shops are closed. Quiet and clean old streets are full of "Nanyang culture". This mixed urban architectural style of Europe and Asia can be said to be the product of several generations of Hainanese crossing the ocean to Nanyang.

If the arcade is the condensation of "Nanyang culture", then Haida Night Market is the quartet food condensed in a bowl of fireworks. In addition to the arcade, the smell of fireworks belonging to Haikou must be Haida Nanmen Night Market.

Every evening at 6 o'clock, it begins to be filled with the flavor of all corners of the country. From refreshing, fried, all kinds of sugar water to Changsha stinky tofu, Yangzhou fried rice, Huainan beef soup, Xi 'an Chinese hamburger, Chongqing mala Tang, Chengdu Huayuan chicken ... you can think of snacks, and it is one of the famous night markets in Haikou.

During the day, it is the main road where cars come and go, and at night it becomes the busiest small night market on earth. On the left are all kinds of snacks from all over the world, and on the right are all kinds of small commodities, which not only satisfy the appetite, but also bring the pleasure of shopping.

In addition, Haikou attracts people with another charm, such as magical volcanoes and interesting wildlife parks.

The old street is a kind of building that Hainan people "go down to the South Ocean", and the volcanic group is a unique landscape formed by nature in the long geological evolution. If you want to know the top of the Quaternary volcanic belt in China, you must not miss the Lei Qiong World Geopark.

Lei Qiong World Geopark is composed of Haikou Park in Hainan Province and Zhanjiang Park in Guangdong Province, with a total area of 379 square kilometers. * * * Volcano 10 1, recognized by UNESCO as "Lei Qiong World Geopark".

It covers all types of basaltic magma eruption and steam magma eruption, and is called a natural masterpiece of Quaternary basalt volcanology by experts because of its large number, variety and strong integrity.

But the most unforgettable thing is the safari park. Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park is very large, with 100 species of rare birds and animals. There are more than 700 species of rare plants in 280 families, and the forest coverage rate is as high as 99%. It is a natural museum that displays the wild ecosystem of tropical rain forest in the island in a panoramic way and concentrates the essence of animals and plants in Hainan Island.

But here, there is an island panda trip that many people didn't expect.

On 20 18, the panda brothers Shun Shun and Gong Gong came to Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park. This is the first time that Hainan has introduced pandas, which has changed the current situation that there are no pandas in Hainan Zoo and attracted countless Haikou citizens to watch.

At the same time, it is hard for everyone to imagine the experience of the "African Prairie". Why do you describe it like this?

Hainan Tropical Wildlife Park is different from other zoos in China that I have been to. The structure and environment of the wildlife park here is very "African prairie", and many wild animals are prisoners without high walls and iron cages.

Visitors must sit in the car and "touch" these free beasts, or lions, or black bears ... Of course, you can go to the beast area when you go to road trip, but the windows must not be opened. Animals show their elegance, but also their wildness.

But for Haikou, there is still one thing that has to be mentioned.

Today's qiongshan district, Haikou City, was a place where celebrities came forth in large numbers in the Ming Dynasty. Among them, the most famous is Harry. Harry carried the coffin and pointed the finger at Emperor Jiajing, blowing a breeze in the smoky officialdom of the Ming Dynasty, and has been praised as the representative of honest officials so far.

This is a glorious chapter in Haikou's history and humanities.
