How to go to Hong Kong for IELTS?
I finished the IELTS test in Hong Kong a few days ago, but now there is no result. In order to gather RP, I wish myself an ideal score in the exam. Here, I would like to share my exam experience and some exam tips.
This registration is rather bumpy, because there are no test sites in the mainland, and it is not difficult to register for the Hong Kong market in a hurry, but I will mainly talk about my anxiety and my friends' anxiety about registering in Hong Kong.
I know there are two points in Hong Kong IELTS registration. One is
BC(/ Candidate/Help
This page is a step diagram, and you can register slowly according to this diagram.
After the payment is successful, you will receive the payment and registration email, and then the registration information will be displayed on the page after your account is logged in. There will be a box under my reservation, which contains the test time and (status paid, locked. ) will appear, but the location of the oral time exam will not come out so early, usually three or five days before your exam. Of course, the time of the speech and the place of the exam will be sent to you by email. There will be an attachment in the email, which contains the details of the admission ticket, and your account will always be in (paid and locked). ), so don't worry too much. Like the mainland, the admission ticket needs to be printed.
stay
Because the location of the test will not be known until a few days before the test, most roast ducks will be worried, but this must be said, because most of the IELTS in Hong Kong will be held in hotels, and if the oral and written tests are held on different days, they will probably be held in two different hotels which are completely far apart, so it is best to wait for the exact information before booking a hotel. If you want to be comfortable, you can of course book the examination room hotel directly. Highly recommended. It's a little expensive, but it's safe, so you don't have to go to the test center in advance. Of course, if you want to save money, you can also book an attached room on Qunar.com, Agoda or other booking website software. At present, I have summarized some examination rooms for children's shoes registered for the IELTS test in Hong Kong at idp: Harbour Center, Lihao Hotel in Sha Tin and Century Hotel in Hong Kong. The statistics of these three companies are incomplete and are for reference only.
traffic
The traffic in Hong Kong is very convenient. Whether you are going to Hong Kong by plane or train, you can get an Octopus card at the boarding gate, which is much more convenient by subway. If you live far from the examination room, you should pay attention to the difference between taxis. In some places in Hong Kong, there are taxi waiting areas that cross the sea, and some that do not cross the sea. If your examination room faces the place you want to go across the sea, the driver won't go. Of course, they usually tell you patiently where to take the bus. As for the meaning of crossing the sea, it refers to the subway line from Sheung Wan to Wan Chai, which crosses Victoria Bay from other places, such as Tsim Sha Tsui. If you want to cross this, it's called crossing the sea. As for other remote places, I don't know much about them. Baidu yourself will probably understand the subway route map.
Send results
That's right. Because there are not many mainland candidates, idp will provide scores and send them to our homes in mainland China. However, idp takes photos in the exam preparation room where you attend the oral exam, enters your information (fingerprints will be taken in Hong Kong), and someone will ask you if you are from the Mainland, and then provide you with an envelope. As for the price, I don't know because I didn't get the score either, but it is said to be 200+.
If you don't want to send it, you can pick it up in Hong Kong again, but it's very troublesome, because he will give you time to pick it up in idp office from morning to afternoon. Of course, you can also ask your relatives in Hong Kong to do it for you. The leader should fill out a form and download it in the attachment of your admission ticket.
Examination day
In fact, the basic process of written examination is similar to that in the mainland, and it is also necessary to enter fingerprints, and then: listen! Force! Gong! Let me go. It means no headphones, no headphones. Practice this at home before the exam.
Hong Kong is a place where Cantonese is spoken. Examiners usually speak Cantonese plus English. If they don't understand, they can speak Mandarin. However, it should be noted that their Mandarin is not standard, and you may get confused when you listen. Of course, you can also use English. Their English is better than Mandarin. There are exceptions (the chief invigilator in my examination room is the person who read notes before the exam because of the Hong Kong accent).
Don't worry, your speaking time may be revised for you when you take the written test. There will be a small red note on the written test table, and this note will also have your test information. If the speaking time is changed, it will be done on this piece of paper. The invigilator will emphasize to you that he changed the time when he changed it. You should remember to arrive early. Then this little note can be taken out of the examination room after you have written the written test, as a voucher for the oral test. Please keep it safe.
Of course, your luggage will also be checked.
Tips: The air conditioning in Hong Kong is very strong, and the place where you take the exam must be very cold, so please keep warm. Even if you put a thin coat on your pants in summer, it may be barely warm enough.
Feeling after the test
The topics in Hong Kong are the same as those in the Mainland, so don't worry, and don't be afraid to practice all IELTS national questions (about 50 part2 2) after referring to Renren. I still feel more at ease in taking the exam in Hong Kong. Generally speaking, there is no pressure on grades. Of course, you don't have to worry that Hong Kong people speak better than us. In fact, there are still many people who speak English generally, so it is good to give full play to their own level. As for the written test environment, the atmosphere will be inexplicably relaxed and their service attitude is very good. I have written so much, I hope the exam results will come out and pretend to be forced! ! ! I also hope that everyone can get the scores they want.
