Introduction
Maokong was originally a small valley on the east side of the tea area. Due to the soft geology, the river bed was eroded by pebbles under years of impact, and the water flow resembled cat claw marks, so the name "Maokong (Cave)" spread. Since its opening, it has become synonymous with Muka Tourist Tea Garden. There are at least fifty or sixty leisure teahouses on the road around the mountain. Whether in an open-air teahouse or in a garden landscape, they enjoy the rich fragrance of tea and the gentle breeze of the fields and mountains with their close friends or family, and they seem to have reached the state of immortality.
Introduction to Maokong
Maokong is located on the mountain in Muka Tea District, Wenshan District, Taipei City. It is named after its unique pothole topography. Muka Tourist Tea Garden is a famous tourist tea garden in Taiwan. Maokong was once a famous tea-producing area in Taipei, and the Tieguanyin produced in Muka is one of the top ten famous teas in Taiwan. Coming to Maokong to enjoy tea has become a unique culture in Taipei.
To visit Maokong, you can choose to walk or take a cable car. If you are brave enough, you can take a ride on the "cat's eye" crystal carriage. The entire carriage is transparent, and 360-degree beauty is right under your feet. Cats have beautiful scenery all year round. In addition to tea trees, apricot flowers bloom in January and February every year, and the land flowers mixed in the tea trees also bloom. When spring tea is picked in April and May, the tung trees also bloom at the same time, known as the "Five Wonders in the Snow". From June to September, you can taste green bamboo shoots-flavored meals; from December to January is the harvest season of winter tea.
