On the banks of the Duro River, that song "Besame Mucho"
After 7 years' attention, the WeChat official "Classical Music in Europe and America" released "Deep Kiss" sung by Andre Bocelli. I can't help but think of some memories of traveling in Iberian Peninsula in southern Europe in the summer of 217.
After more than 2 days' travel, we stayed in eight cities in Spain and Portugal. No matter big cities or small cities, we all stayed in apartments or small hotels in the old city. They were close to the civic square, where the midsummer night was crowded, lively and festive, and various artistic performances attracted a large number of tourists. We can't miss this wonderful time. We take part in it almost every night, or go after helping ourselves to chinese dinner table, or go directly to a small restaurant next to the square to enjoy a delicious local meal, and play with local residents and tourists from all over the world. We don't enjoy ourselves until late at night.
What fascinates me most is that I can hear the song "Besame Mucho" anytime and anywhere. Its Chinese version is called "You are Happiness".
I first heard it in Porto, Portugal. One night for dinner, I chose to eat in an open-air restaurant on the wall of an ancient castle by the Douro River, and I had a wonderful meal alone. While enjoying the delicious food, a melody sung by a baritone floated up from the square below, so familiar, "You are Happiness"? This is a famous foreign song that was popular among students in China in 196s. The singer's voice is full of magnetism, sadness and sensibility, which is so beautiful. He immediately walks to the riverside pier square after dinner, trying to listen carefully and sing with him to find the true meaning of emotional interpretation in the birthplace of the song. Unfortunately, there are no singers anywhere in the square.
The whole ancient city of Porto has been listed as a "World Cultural Heritage". There are historical blocks on both sides of the Duluo River, and the Nan 'an District has miles of wine cellars and wine boats, which is a place for tourists to taste wine. The pier square in the North Shore District is wide, with restaurants, bars and art shops lined up, and tourists are weaving every day. The evening is the most romantic time in Porto. The sunset slowly sets in the distance of the Duro River. The river is full of sparkling gold waves, and the wine boats on the river are lit up with orange lights. Couples taste Porto wine in the boating. The beautiful scene makes people reluctant to leave. At night, a small street band and street artists poured out their performances, attracting a large number of tourists to stop and watch, and applause came and went, which was very lively.

I walked all the way to eight large and small cities, and almost every city could hear folk artists perform this song in various ways: guitar, harmonica, accordion, saxophone ... singing softly, all of which made me stop to listen. However, I'm still a little surprised. It's an American song. Why is it so popular in Spain? But the guitar music "Memories of the Alhambra Palace" can't be found? Is there a distance between the people and the temple?
According to my nephew who lives in England, "Bésame Mucho" is a Spanish song, and the music originated from Bolero style in Spain, so it is very popular in Spain. Many Spaniards think that this song is from Spain. The translation of "Bésame Mucho" may be more appropriate as "Please kiss me", and the word "kiss" is the main word in the first lyric. Therefore, when the implicit Chinese nation meets the unrestrained Latin American culture, there is a somewhat irrelevant translation of "You are happiness".
Besame Mucho was written by Mexican female composer and pianist Consuelo Velaquez (Consulo Velasco) in 1941. Now, it is known as the "song of the century" in Latin America. It is said that Besame Mucho has more than 1 editions all over the world.
Lama, the master of Classical Music in Europe and America, compiles lyrics to the effect that:
Kiss me. Kiss me deeply. I'm afraid I'll lose you in the future. I want to feel you face to face? See myself in your eyes. Maybe tomorrow? I've been far away from you. Kiss me deeply, and I'll treat tonight as the night of parting.
The Chinese version of Besame Mucho was included in the early famous song book "2 foreign folk songs" with the title "You are Happiness". Lyrics translated by Zheng Zhongcheng and Liu Shufang:
How happy I am to be with you. Your kiss burns my heart like a fire? You are happiness. I will keep this joy in my heart. My heart will always be with you. We are not afraid to separate you. You are my bright future. I will never let others take you away? How happy I am to be with you until the last moment. You are happiness. Remember my words and never abandon me.
Finally, insert a group of photos of my visit to Porto.
Porto is a place that makes people dream, and I hope to visit again in my lifetime.
