Huangshan University, located in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, is a comprehensive provincial undergraduate college. Huangshan College was formerly known as Huizhou Normal College founded in 1978. In December 1997, it merged with the former Huizhou College of University of Science and Technology of China and was renamed Huangshan College.

In August 2000, the People's Government of Anhui Province approved the merger of Huangshan Forestry School into Huangshan College; in February 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to Huangshan College.

In 2014, Huangshan University was approved to build a local application-oriented high-level university project of the Anhui Province Higher Education Revitalization Plan and a national education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents.
