The death of Lan refers to that the Canadian Chinese Lan (or, in English: Lan Keer,191April 30 -20 13) drowned in the water tower on the roof of cecil hotel Hotel in downtown Los Angeles from October to February. Because of its bizarre place of death and a series of strange actions taken by the monitor in the hotel elevator before its disappearance, it has become the focus of attention. On June 20, the Los Angeles County Forensic Medicine Office concluded that Lan died of accidental drowning, and according to his behavior before his death, Lan suffered from bipolar disorder, which was a major factor leading to his death.

Lan traveled to California alone in June, 20 13, and disappeared in cecil hotel, Los Angeles in June, 3 1 3. On June 19, his body was found in the water tower on the roof of the hotel.

Cecil hotel is famous for three murders and many suicides. It is the residence of serial killer richard ramirez of 1985 and Jack Ann Twigg of 199 1.
