BEC’s full English name is BUSINESS ENGLISH CERTIFICATE.

The Examination Center of the Ministry of Education cooperates with the Cambridge University Examination Committee to organize the Business English Certificate Examination in 1993. This series of exams is a proficiency exam. Based on the actual needs of business work, it comprehensively tests the candidates' ability to use English in business and general life environments from four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Those who pass the test will be provided by the University of Cambridge in the UK. A standard certificate of achievement issued by an examination board.

BEC*** is divided into three levels: BEC Preliminary Level (BEC Preliminary Level, BEC Pre.), BEC Vantage Level (BEC Vantage Level, BEC Higher Level) , abbreviated as BEC Hi.). Candidates can freely choose the appropriate level to apply for the exam based on their English proficiency.

The exam is conducted in two stages. The first stage is a written test, including reading, writing and listening, and the second stage is an oral test. The test time is: BEC primary reading and writing 90 minutes, listening about 40 minutes (including the time to fill in the answer sheet), and oral test 12 minutes; BEC intermediate reading 60 minutes, writing 45 minutes, listening about 40 minutes (including the time to fill in the answer sheet) , the oral test is 14 minutes; BEC advanced reading is 60 minutes, writing is 70 minutes, listening is about 40 minutes (including the time to fill in the answer sheet), and the oral test is 16 minutes.

There is no start time for registration, that is, you can register at any time. There are deadlines: the registration deadline for the first half of the year is March 10th; the registration deadline for the second half of the year is September 15th. The registration deadline will change by a few days every year, whichever is announced by the test center. Registration is not restricted by age, gender, occupation, region, education, etc. Anyone (including students, unemployed people, etc.) can register at the local test center with his or her ID card. Foreigners and active military personnel working in China can also register for the exam with their valid identity documents. Each time you register, you will be charged an examination fee (including oral examination fee): BEC Junior: RMB 289.40 (including US$18 converted at the RMB exchange rate); BEC Intermediate: RMB 372.60 (including US$22 converted at the RMB exchange rate); BEC Advanced: RMB 488.90 RMB (including USD 33 converted at exchange rate). Since the RMB exchange rate may change, the charging standard for each examination shall be subject to the announcement by the examination center.

After registration, candidates will receive a "Candidate Manual" that includes the scope of the exam and the types of questions for candidates to refer to for review

On the third Saturday of May every year (BEC Advanced), the 4th Saturday (BEC Junior), the first Saturday in June (BEC Intermediate); the fourth Saturday of November each year (BEC Senior), the first Saturday in December (BEC Junior), the second Saturday (BEC Intermediate). There will be a written test in the morning and an oral test in the afternoon. If the oral test progresses slowly, it will be postponed to the morning of the next day. If the exam time changes, the one announced by the exam center that year shall prevail. The examination location is the registration location, and the specific examination venue will be announced by each examination center.

The exam answer sheets are collected by the Overseas Examination Office of the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education and sent to the Cambridge University Examination Committee for marking. After the results are evaluated (BEC Junior Pass with merit, Pass, N, and F grades; BEC Intermediate grade with A, B, C, N, and F grades; BEC Advanced grade with A, B, C, N, and F grades, ), print the score notice (including failed N, F,) and score certificate, send them to the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education and then send them to each test center to issue to the candidates. Achievement certificates are valid for life.

The results may also be given as pending (pending, to be determined), and then there will be no follow-up.

The deadline for registration in the first half of the year is March 17; registration in the second half of the year The deadline is September 17. Candidates can register at the test center before the registration deadline with their valid ID and registration fee.
