The Legend of Ancient Swords: Qin Xin Sword Soul

Author : A certain tree, Ning Zhou

Chapter 1 Preface ("Ancient Sword" project leader, main planner, screenwriter: A certain tree)

Unknowingly, "The Ancient Sword" It’s been nearly two years since the release of "Qi Tan", and the plot novel adapted from this stand-alone role-playing game is finally about to be published.

As the original author of the story, I was asked to write a preface to express my inner thoughts. In fact, this matter still makes me quite confused and I don’t know what to say. The girl in the company said that in the previous "Gu Jian Qi Tan" planning collection, you didn't specifically write about the original idea of ??creating this story, so why not write about it this time. So I continued to be confused. I have gone through the setting of the entire story, from the context of the world view to as small as a line of dialogue or a punctuation point, countless times in my heart and eyes. I can clearly explain every design point. come out. However, as to why such a story was started, it is probably because all the ideas have been scattered into thousands of words and countless aspects, and integrated into the game itself, so it cannot be said for a while.

I tried to recall the beginning, and then express the so-called "original thoughts" in the language that is easiest for others to understand.

From the beginning to the end, I probably wanted to create a story about "time" and create a world with a sense of time flow.

I once heard this saying: Every subsequent work you create is actually just a continuation of the first work. I don't know if this theory is universal for all designers, but for me, at least "Gu Jian Qi Tan" does have some ideas that I wanted to express in previous works but could not be realized for various reasons. They are not a specific plot or character, but a large concept.

I want to describe some fragments in the torrent of time. They are a wave in the rushing river, and they are also the flash of brilliance of a meteor streaking across the sky. Each fragment has an independent existence, and it is precisely because it is only a tiny part of the vast world, and only a moment in an almost eternity, that it is so precious.

So we have the world view of "The Story of Ancient Swords", including the three realms of heaven, earth and man, the many tribes on the earth, the method of soul-forging swords, the horoscope in the stars and rivers of forgetfulness, the musicians of the heaven and Mount Buzhou. dragons, causes and effects separated by thousands of years...even all of these may be just a part of this world.

Some people say that you want to use this to express a grand world view?

Yes and no.

I have never thought of always using a wide-angle lens to describe the world. Even if I did, I would start with big events and then move on to smaller events. Although there are constraints on expression techniques from external objective conditions, it is also related to my original design ideas. As mentioned before, every fragment of time can become an independent story, and you don’t have to think about the threshold and carry the burden to read it. If we meet someone who is more predestined, we should have more fun with each other, both as authors and as readers. Maybe you can try to put these pieces together and gradually see more about the appearance and laws of this world.

The story of "The Story of Ancient Swords" will be slowly told in this way, gradually starting from small things and seeing big things. The same is true in its worldview derivative novel "The Ancient Chronicles of Shenyuan".

The plot of the PC game "Gu Jian Qi Tan" will be narrated to readers in the form of a novel by Ning Zhou, the author of "Kyushu Chronicles".

The process of getting to know Ning Zhou is also quite amazing. I myself can be considered a reader of "Jiuzhou Chronicles". Although due to my busy work, I am inevitably suspected of fishing for three days and drying nets for two days, there are actually several stories in "Jiuzhou Chronicles" that moved me very much.

After the research and development work on "Gu Jian Qi Tan" generation was completed, I learned that my friend Ibuki Satsuki was doing illustrations for "Kyushu Chronicles", so I went around and got to know the people there. Later, I heard that someone in the magazine was actually playing "Gu Jian Qi Tan", and there were more than one, especially the talented girl from Peking University named Ning Zhou, who was a die-hard fan of Baili Tusu. The first time she chatted with me and said hello, "Little Red Dot's biological mother"...this probably counts as fate.

Whether you are doing game development or writing fantasy stories, being able to impress others with your work is one of the greatest joys of creation itself. I sincerely hope that the adaptation written by Ning Zhou can impress more people, make old players feel friendly, and also allow new readers to open the door to the world of "Gu Jian Qi Tan".

Preface to Chapter 2

Over the years, I have been away for a long time, but you are still in Wen\Jiangnan

In fact, I have never played "Gu Jian Qi Tan" because I switched to the MAC system two years ago, and Gu Jian cannot run on MAC. I turned over the CD of the ancient sword in my hand and remembered the genuine "Legend of Sword and Fairy" that my brothers in the dormitory bought many years ago.

That was the first genuine CD I had ever seen in my life. When I took it out of the CD box, I was as cautious as a jade collector taking out Xin Hongshan from the brocade box. Ancient jade.

I can still remember that scene to this day, a cherry blossom pink disc spinning on your finger, as if it is the key to a world. Pushing open the door of the world, the sword energy splits. In the sky, the girl picked up the flowers and smiled.

It was 1997, when I was an undergraduate student at Peking University. Pirated CDs sold for 30 yuan each, and genuine games cost about 200 yuan. Our monthly food expenses are about 300 yuan, the monthly dormitory fee seems to be 70 yuan, and it costs 8,000 yuan to save a computer that can run games.

It is not difficult to imagine how rare a genuine copy of the game must have been in that era. A Jian, who was in the same dormitory, went out to buy it one afternoon and treasured it in his suitcase. He was not bought to play, because we had already completed it seven or eight times before that. After modifying the save file, we could reach the full level at the beginning, and then run wildly through the maze. We could finish the game in two and a half hours at the fastest. schedule. But stopping to watch every cutscene and those ignorant dialogues is like watching a scene from a movie or a novel. I never get tired of repeating it, but I regret that I can't change the ending.

A Jian tried to change the ending... He was a fan of Lin Yueru, so by modifying the save file, he forcibly changed Anu and Zhao Ling'er who accompanied Li Xiaoyao through the customs to Lin Yueru. moon. Many years later, I thought that if he had the conditions, he would have remade the ending animation and created a new version of "Ajian's version of the Immortal Sword" and sold it to Lin Yueru fans all over China.

I think A Jian bought that box of genuine fairy swords for his Lin Yueru. When the huge stone fell on Lin Yueru's head, A Jian felt that a delicate and savage girl had died in his heart. So the pink CD lay quietly in Ajian's suitcase, like the tombstone of an old lover... Sometimes Ajian would lie in bed late at night and read the original game manual, as if he was reading an old lover's diary.

Now that Ajian is in far away North America, I hope he can live a good life with a girl as delicate and affectionate as Lin Yueru.

By the way, I am also a Linyuerufen.

When we were young, we wore big pants and walked around the corridors of the dormitory with our bare ribs and rugged chests, but we imagined that we were wearing long sleeves to protect ourselves from the wind, holding a sword in our hand, waiting for us. With the achievements of slaying demons and the beautiful girl, we are always ready to sacrifice ourselves, if it is for the peace of the world or the girl's tears, we will not hesitate.

After many years, our lives have changed. We are in a hurry and sometimes mediocre. We consider buying a house or changing a car every day, watch a new episode of animation every week, receive a salary once a month, and take a vacation every year. A short vacation. I have begun to consider buying myself a more comfortable commercial insurance for retirement, and have considered buying a villa with a small yard.

I don’t remember much about slaying the demon or the girl who was destined to meet. As for sacrificing myself, I absolutely can’t. I still have to be responsible for dozens of people in my family and company. I’m going to travel now. Consciously read the hotel's escape instructions so that you can jump up and run away in your pajamas in the event of a fire or other unexpected situation.

Oh, in life, in addition to being an author, I am also an editor and copyright agent.

One day, my former assistant knocked on the door of the copyright agent's office. When she came in, she told me that she wanted to write an official novel for a game called "Gu Jian Qi Tan".

First of all, I need to introduce my former assistant. This person’s name is Ning Zhou. She graduated from Peking University. She is a standard royal sister. She is 170 cm tall and 180 cm tall in high heels. She is majestic and has a sharp eye. The whole company The little girls up and down feared her more than they feared me. After she was promoted, she was responsible for copyright sales in our company. She had to negotiate with more than a dozen authors to purchase copyrights every day, which was very exciting.

I was surprised. This sounds to me like a hotel lobby manager suddenly asking for food to be served. I remember adjusting my glasses and saying, just find an author to help you write it. Classmate Ning Zhou said, let me tell you this story.

She spent two hours telling me "The Story of Ancient Swords".

Starting from the young man with a red dot between his eyebrows, to the immortal playing the piano in his previous life, then to the ruins of Penglai, and then to the sword with an ominous fate... It is now difficult for me to spend two hours here. After listening to a story, my editor usually asks me to discuss an outline. I only need to listen for 15 minutes before making a judgment. Sometimes I will say stop after 5 minutes and there is no need to go on.

But I listened to Gu Jian for two hours, and Ning Zhou still hadn’t finished telling the story. It is as huge as a real world, and each character has his own story in this world. It can even be said that it does not deliberately distinguish between the protagonist and the supporting role. It feels like our dormitory brothers who played Fairy Sword together have traveled to the world we once dreamed of. We will get together to slay demons and monsters, and we will also meet the girls of our destiny separately.

Everyone will be the protagonist in his own life.

I think the designer of this game must love the world she wrote, just like A Jian and I loved Lin Yueru back then.

Ning Zhou said that the producer of the game was the original foreman of Shanghai Softstar, and he was also the producer of the third and fourth generations of "Legend of Sword and Fairy", and he immediately admired him. So one afternoon we visited Shanghai Zhulong, a new company launched by Foreman Jun, and met with Mr Foreman and the chief designer of "Gu Jian Qi Tan" Moushu, and chatted for two hours.

I have worked at Ninetowns and Perfect World, and I have met many producers who focus on game planning and understand the methods of game art work. However, in a certain tree, I can feel that it is not just creativity. , and it is a girl’s longing for the world in her own mind. Only with this kind of longing, will you spare no effort to make every character in the game lifelike, just like a sculptor sculpting the masterpiece in your mind, even the details of the pleats must be perfect.

When I attended the London Book Fair as a representative of Chinese writers, I went to visit the British Museum and stood for a long time in front of the reliefs of the Parthenon. The men riding galloping horses had smooth lines and The details are so perfect that the longer you stand there, the more you can appreciate the surging dynamics. The design of "Gu Jian Qi Tan" gives me a similar feeling. In this game, you can find a perfect ending by following every clue, no matter Baili Tusu, Feng Qingxue, Fang Lansheng or Hongyu, or even Ouyang Shao Gong, everyone has their own reasons, loves and hates living in that world, so it is lively and real.

It reminds me of playing "Legend of Sword and Fairy" when I was in college. Compared with "Xuanyuan Sword", its world view may not be grand, but it is better in that each character is lifelike and allows you to walk in a world repeatedly. What never gets boring is not the magnificent design, but the vivid characters.

I can also understand why Ning Zhou is so looking forward to writing the novel version of this game.

Her work is actually quite busy, and sometimes she has to work overtime and stay up late. My colleagues in the company's copywriting department and I also provided help with ideas and details of this book. Although it may not be a perfect presentation, it is indeed a good idea. With nostalgia for the past and respect for this game.

Thanks to Shanghai Zhulong, after bidding farewell to the gaming world for many years, I suddenly discovered that someone is still holding on to the dreams of our youth.

You are still standing in that vast world, holding ancient swords in your hands, looking up at the fairy mountains, slaying all monsters, meeting your destined people, and living a life that we once envied.

Love has a thousand knots, and the heart is in the world by Chen Shaofeng

Imaginative works will always be welcomed by readers, I often think so.

Such a story that explores the soul is indeed a bit mysterious; the somewhat mysterious story coupled with the protagonist’s journey of spirit and love makes it seem a bit fresh, creative, and unique, and there are many more. Elements that trigger contemplation and feelings that prompt wish-making. Whether it is Feng Qingxue or Baili Tusu, whether it is the experience in the world or the intersection of souls, they are all related to love. Although the word "love" is an old-fashioned expression, it is so old-fashioned that people unconsciously turn time and space upside down. It is so old-fashioned that it has been entangled with human nature for thousands of years. It has a life that no one can refuse. The dilemma of what one is willing to pay in the next life. Or, in the eyes of readers, many novel authors use love as the main line of their stories, because love is the most charming theme of literature and the most artistically expressive connotation. However, the stories in this novel contain love stories with different expressions and expressions, and there are also traces of emotions that are enough to impress readers.

I have been studying the game industry and thinking rationally, but I like to feel it with my heart. What I like best are stories that use words to express moral or romantic sentiments. I have always liked reading novels, whether they are romance, psychological, detective, martial arts, time travel, supernatural, fantasy, science fiction, horror, or historical, realistic, red, or contemporary, as long as It’s good if it’s imaginative and the plot has ups and downs. However, I don’t seem to be suitable for reading more novels, because I am often moved or aroused to reverie, even if it is a fragment of psychology, behavior, action, speech, especially a sentence of love, it will make me feel... Quickly implanted, or arousing concern about the fate of the protagonist and lingering thoughts about it afterwards - the love story in this novel not only made my heart ripple, but also made me have the urge to participate in it.

This novel adapted from the game "Gu Jian Qi Tan" has its own literary expression that is different from the game works. The character depictions in it have changed from colorful screens to delicate pen tips. The story also unfolds with more clever textual guidance. I believe that readers can re-imagine a different ending to the story, or participate in shaping the characters through re-imagining, giving full play to their unique creativity, which is easy to indulge in fantasy while reading.

Unintentionally, I myself experienced a soul-transforming love affair.

Chapter 3 Wedge

This is not the first time that Prince Changqin has left Hongya Realm.

In this era, the gods still live in the world.

The Hongmeng has just opened, the Three Realms have not yet been established, and the scenery in this world is still in a beautiful style where no one is bothered. The gods who were born after the creation of the world guard the creatures on this land.

Prince Changqin is not a god, but a qin spirit that was transformed from Feng Lai qin.

The Fire God Zhu Rong took three wooden harps from Qishan Mountain and named them Huang Lai, Luan Lai and Feng Lai. Zhu Rong cherishes Sanqin very much, especially Xifeng, who often plays it. The phoenix transformed into a spirit, took on the form of a human, and could speak human language. Zhu Rong was overjoyed and asked the Earth Emperor Nuwa to turn the spirit of the harp into a human body using the art of pulling life souls. They treated each other with father-son friendship and called it Prince Changqin.

Ever since the prince Changqin woke up from his qin, he often dreamed of a place in the human world called Lushan.

If Zhu Rong is his father, then Qishan Mountain is the hometown he dreams of.

What appears in front of you is an ink landscape-like place, with a sea of ??clouds flowing, gathering and dispersing. There are many mountains among the clouds, and tall dodder trees and red flower branches grow gradually along the mountain. There are clear springs flowing down from the mountains and gathering into a pool. There is a rugged boulder protruding into the pool on the mountainside, like a high platform extending into the water and clouds.

Although he has a calm and indifferent temperament, seeing such a beautiful place still makes his heart move.

A ray of white light passed by, and the slender figure had reached the top of the high platform. The breeze carries the water mist and the fragrance of flowers, blowing towards your face, refreshing and refreshing.

The prince sat on the ground with a long qin. With a turn of his wrist, Feng Lai qin was placed in front of him.

Only music can describe this feeling and scene.

His white fingertips gently plucked the music slowly, and a new song gradually took shape. The music was refined and rippled with the wind, echoing in the mountains and rivers of Lushan Mountain.

A Ruomu flower fell into the water, and the crimson flowers rotated slightly with the water, adding a bright and playful color to his music.

At the end of the song, Prince Changqin sighed leisurely, feeling both satisfied and a little lost. This is the most beloved piece of music he has composed since becoming a human being.

It’s a pity that the mountains and rivers are silent and no one comes to make peace with them.

While I was slightly lost in thought, there was a rustling sound coming from the bushes not far behind me.

Prince Changqin didn’t care. Nowadays, all things in the world are prosperous, people and animals are prosperous, and there are many animals in the mountains and forests. He has magic power, so he doesn't have to be afraid even if he encounters a fierce beast.

But the sound came straight towards him, the slight sound of scales rubbing against the rocks gradually approaching.

He turned around to look and met a pair of golden pupils.

It is a water hyena. There are many such creatures beside the water, but I have never heard of one with golden eyes.

The prince Changqin looked at the water snake with great interest, and the water snake also looked at the prince Changqin, without fear or fear, his dark body snaked towards him, as if he was inspired by the music, and went straight to the prince Changqin's side.

The water snake looked at it for a while, and then said: "I have never seen you before, what is your name?"

The tone was generous, as if he had hit it off at first sight. friend.

"Prince Changqin." Prince Changqin couldn't help but laugh. He was really a funny little water snake.

"My name is Xing Yu. Prince Changqin, your music is so nice, I like it."

It wasn't until thousands of years later that Prince Changqin was deprived of his immortal status and destroyed. The moment he lost his original body, many memories emerged in his mind one by one. Among them was that day in Lishan Mountain, when he promised to the little water snake: "Okay, then I will always Let me play it for you."
