The geographical location of Haimen county

Haimen is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, bordering the Yellow Sea in the east and the Yangtze River in the south, and is known as the "gateway of rivers and seas". Across the river from Shanghai, it is known as the "Northern Guangzhou". The city is located at 3146'-32 09' north latitude and12104'-132' east longitude. The territory is flat, with vertical and horizontal ditches and an average elevation of 4.96 meters (based on the abandoned Yellow River). The terrain is slightly higher in the northwest and lower in the southeast. The highest point in the west is 5.2 meters above sea level, and the lowest point in the east is 2.5 meters above sea level. The north-south section is an isolated shape, with low ends and high middle.

Haimen, located at the mouth of the Yangtze River, is known as the "gateway to rivers and seas". Haimen, east of the Yellow Sea, faces Japan and South Korea across the sea, only 400 nautical miles away from international ports such as Nagasaki and Busan. To the south of the Yangtze River, it is only 60 kilometers away from Shanghai in a straight line, and the land area of the whole city is 1 148.77 square kilometers.
