Why is Huanggu District in Shenyang called Tawan?
Named after the river. The reason why Huanggu District of Shenyang is called Tawan is because this tower was built during the period of Huang Taiji in Qing Dynasty, and a temple called "Huilongguan" was built next to it. At this point, the Liaohe River has been diverted. Because there is no water in Tawan, people came up with the name "Huilong". Later, the Qing government opened a canal to divert Hunhe River water to irrigate farmland, and the newly opened river water flowed through the stupa. Later people called this place Tawan, which is also an important landmark in Shenyang.
