If you are traveling from Nanjing to Lijiang or Shangri-La, you must transfer via Kunming. You can fly from Nanjing to Kunming, there are many every day; you can also take a train, one train a day, K155, departing from Nanjing Railway Station and taking 40 hours to Kunming. After you arrive in Kunming, you can first take the train to Lijiang, and then spend three days each in Lijiang and Shangri-La:

In Lijiang:

Day 1: If you take the train to Lijiang , you can first play around Lijiang Old Town. Lijiang Old Town is free, but some attractions require tickets. These places are not far from each other and can be reached by walking, including Lijiang Old Town, Mufu, Wangu Tower, Sifang Street, Black Dragon Pond, Wufeng Tower, and you can also visit Shuhe Ancient Town.

The next day: Take a bus to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, including Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Yunshanping, Blue Moon Valley, Baishui River, Ganhaizi, Bingta Forest, Maoniuping, Dongba Wanshen Garden, and Yufeng Temple , Yushui Village, etc.

Day 3: Take the bus early and visit the Big Bend of the Yangtze River and Tiger Leaping Gorge. Then drive directly to Shangri-La. You can visit Xiaozhongdian and other scenic spots on the way.

In Shangri-La:

Day 1: Get up early and visit Dukezong Ancient City, Guishan Mountain, Songzanlin Temple, etc., and then take a bus directly to Feilai Temple in Deqin (The goal of going to Feilai Temple in Deqin is to see the Meili Snow Mountain, but in summer Yunnan is the rainy season, and it often rains continuously, so you can’t see the Meili Snow Mountain, so you can consider whether to go to this place.)

The next day: First visit Meili Snow Mountain at Feilai Temple, then visit Mingyong Glacier, and then go directly back to Shangri-La.

The third day: Visit Pudacuo, Bitahai, etc., then return to Lijiang and take the night train back to Kunming.

Lijiang and Shangri-La are tourist cities. There are many inns in the city, thousands of them. They are easy to find and not expensive. As long as you don’t stay in a big hotel, an average inn now costs about 50 yuan for a standard room.
