What is there in Guanghan Palace?

Guanghan Palace is a palace located on the moon in ancient Chinese myths and legends. The moon's residents include the Taiyin Star King, the Moon God, the Moonlight Empress, Wu Gang, Chang'e, and the Jade Rabbit.

The Moon Palace is also called the Toad Palace. Later generations named the house where Chang'e lived after flying to the moon as the Guanghan Palace. Whenever night falls, a bright moon rises in the night sky, and the clear moonlight fills the earth, making people have countless thoughts and reveries. Since ancient times, there have been legends about the Jade Rabbit and Chang'e.

Chang'e's real name was Chang'e, but she was later renamed "Chang'e" to avoid the name taboo of Han Wen Emperor Liu Heng. The "Book of Songs" calls her "the daughter of the emperor's concubine". Some historians have concluded based on this that Chang'e's first marriage to Houyi was probably a political marriage between the two tribes.

Later, Hanzhuo killed Houyi and became king. Chang'e's tribe formed an alliance with the Han family, and she herself remarried Hanzhuo. "King Guo" Han Shui and the ancestor of the surname Ge Han Shi (yì) are both her sons after remarriage. Sun Jingming, a researcher at the Weifang Municipal Museum in Shandong Province, said that there is a Hanting District in Weifang City. More than 4,000 years ago, "Hanting", the capital of the Han Kingdom, was located here.

Extended information:

It is said that there is a laurel tree five hundred feet high in the moon. During the Han Dynasty, there was a man named Wu Gang who was obsessed with immortality and did not concentrate on his studies. Therefore, the Emperor of Heaven was angry and lived in the Moon Palace. He ordered him to cut down the laurel tree in the Moon Palace. He said: "If you cut down the laurel tree, you will get a harvest." Immortal magic."

But every time Wu Gang struck the axe, the wound on the tree immediately healed. Day after day, Wu Gang's wish to cut down the osmanthus was still not fulfilled, so Wu Gang cut down the osmanthus in the moon palace all year round. The tree could not be cut down, so later generations could see the image of Wu Gang endlessly cutting down laurels in the middle of the moon.
