Travel Records (35) Entering the Bund of Huangpu River

Text/Konoha Mountain

The poem says: The water system of Taihu Lake flows into the Pujiang River, and flows eastward into the sea and stretches the vast ocean. The rich land is filled with rain near the shore, and the wind is gentle in the corner. Once a metropolis, Shanghai has become more glorious after many vicissitudes of life. Thousands of houses are brightly lit, and the night on the Bund is unusual.

An ancient poem begins, saying that the Bund of the Huangpu River is located on the west side of the Huangpu River. Located on the bank of the Pujiang River in Huangpu District, Shanghai, the beach is about three miles long. It starts from Yan'an East Road in the south, reaches Waibaidu Bridge on the Suzhou River in the north, faces the Huangpu River in the east, and is the gathering place of old Shanghai's finance and foreign trade in the west. It is a modern Chinese historical and cultural district. In November 1996, the State Council listed it as a national key cultural relic protection unit.

According to documentary records: "Since the 24th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1844), this place has been classified as a British concession area and became the Shanghai Shili Foreign Market. In the 32nd year of the Republic of China (1943), this place was Returned, thereby ending the century-long foreign concession period."

There are many classical buildings here, known as the "Bund of International Architectural Exposition Group", and an important relic of modern Chinese history. Now across the river from the Bund, Lujiazui in Pudong is home to Shanghai's iconic Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center, which have become the epitome of China's modernization drive.

We came here because of its famous name. We took a two-hour drive from Huzhou to Shanghai. We spent a day exploring Yu Garden during the day and checked into the nearby All Seasons Hotel early in the afternoon. I wanted to take a look at the night view of the Bund in Shanghai. The station is not far from the Bund. After dinner, we walked there.

Along the way, there are many high-rise buildings along the way, some are new buildings and some were built in old China. The lights are brightly lit at night, illuminating the streets and night sky. Tall green trees cover the streets and are surrounded by low flowers and trees. Yanran is a beautiful garden scenery.

With no time to take into account the property market scenery, we went straight to the bank of the Huangpu River. But maybe because it is a holiday, there are many people traveling here. We walked from the station to the Bund river bank for about 20 minutes and then arrived at the river bank. There is a square on the shore here and a cruise ship dock. The best viewing spot on the shore, with thousands of heads surging. There is an endless stream of people from all over the world.

It is said that the Huangpu River is an inland river in Shanghai. It originally originated from the Taihu Lake system in the upper reaches. The water from Taihu Lake flows eastward and flows through the Waibaidu Bridge in Suzhou to enter the Huangpu River. Then it crosses from Shanghai to the Yangtze River and extends to the estuary.

The waves of the Huangpu River are rolling and flowing continuously. At night, the sky and water are all shrouded in haze. On the other side of the river, in the Lujiazui area, thousands of lights in high-rise buildings are bright and brilliant. Its reflection is reflected in the river, like clouds flying from the sky, reflecting thousands of rays of rays of light.

There are many types of boat cruises on the Huangpu River, traveling up and down the river. There are piers on both the east and west shores, where tourists can buy tickets to board the boat, and enjoy the night views on both sides of the river and the splendor of the Bund today in the middle reaches of the river.

The shore is paved with bluestones, there are wide sidewalks, and there are guardrails on the embankment for visitors to watch the river and the scenery on the other side. Most people come here and take photos with their mobile phones while walking. Standing on the shore and looking to the other side, those high-rise buildings seem to be sitting in the water, poetic and picturesque, giving people unlimited reverie.

From the night views on both sides of the Pujiang River, you can see how prosperous the metropolis of Shanghai is. Everyone who comes here is fascinated by the scenery of the Pujiang River. The luminous water, the beautiful buildings and jade buildings are like a fairyland on earth.

There were many people taking the cruise ship. At 8:30 in the evening, some tourists were still interested. Some people still bought tickets and were waiting for the cruise ship at the pier. The cruise ships here are quite large, usually divided into upper and lower floors. There are many tourists, even standing on the top of the ship, taking pictures with their mobile phones.

Due to time constraints, we did not take the cruise ship. Just walk along the river bank to the west upstream direction. The embankment along the river is full of people, and many people take photos or photos there. There was a buzz of people and a constant flow of people coming and going.

We spent more than an hour and finally walked to the western section of the North Bank and watched the colorful night scenery on the other side of the Pujiang River. It was already nine o'clock and we started to return. By the way, we took a look at the north bank. of night.

The high-rise buildings on the north bank are still brightly lit, looking particularly beautiful in the night. At this time, tourists began to go back and forth, but the cruise ship in the river continued to sail.

There are groups of benches not far away on the north embankment, which are places for tourists to take a rest and rest when they are tired from walking.

In the next section, there is also an umbrella-shaped pavilion, which may be a place for tourists to enjoy the cool weather and protect themselves from the rain. But there is a light on the top of the umbrella, which can be illuminated at night.

There are also neon lights shining on the outsides of the tall buildings along the coast. From a distance, they look exquisite and clear, like crystal palaces inlaid in the river, very beautiful. This is really the ingenuity of a single-minded master.

When the time arrived at nine o'clock, we had to go back to the hotel and stayed at the Bund Pujiang for two and a half hours. We still had so much fun that we had to come back if we had the chance! This is exactly it: the Huangpu River on the Bund in Shanghai and the unusual scenery of the new city. In the past, the leasehold left relics, but now the founding is even more glorious.
