I. Peach Blossom Garden in Changde, Hunan Province

This Peach Blossom Garden is the closest to the legend.

Tao Yuanming said at the beginning of his "Peach Blossom Garden": "When he was in Taiyuan, Wu Lingren made a living by fishing", which clearly indicated that the Peach Blossom Garden was in Wuling, but there were Wuling County and Wuling County in the history of China.

According to the Records of Geography of Hanshu, Wuling County lasted for 960 years from the establishment of the Western Han Dynasty to the end of the Tang Dynasty. The area under its jurisdiction was later changed to Changde Road and Changde House, and Tao Yuanming's Eastern Jin Dynasty was in this period, so today's Changde in Hunan is considered by many people as the prototype of the Peach Blossom Garden.

Taohuayuan is located in Taoyuan County, Changde, with Yuanjiang in the south and Wuling Peak in the north. There is also the Taoyuan view of Wuling Mountain, which was founded in the Western Jin Dynasty. By the time of the Northern Song Dynasty, the incense was extremely prosperous, and the literati in the past dynasties splashed ink everywhere, becoming the holy land of Taoism in China.

The peach blossom garden in spring is full of peach blossoms, green and red. Walking into the Peach Blossom Garden is like walking into a magnificent picture scroll, and you can really feel the artistic conception of "lush grass and blooming flowers" depicted in the Peach Blossom Garden. This is also the peach blossom source prototype of the annotation and etymology of Ci Hai.

Second, Chongqing Youyang Peach Blossom Garden

Youyang is a Tujia and Miao autonomous county under the jurisdiction of Chongqing, adjacent to Hunan and located in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain. Known as "the gateway to southeast Chongqing and the throat of Hunan and Guizhou". A famous saying: "There are two peach blossoms in the world, one in your heart and the other in Youyang, Chongqing" is a popular advertising slogan in this county.

Youyang Peach Blossom Garden was evaluated by experts as the most like the artistic conception of Tao Yuanming's prose. There are mountains, water, caves and fertile fields here. Especially in March and April every year, the peach blossoms here are particularly brilliant, as if they really left the hustle and bustle of the world and entered the countryside of Qin Jin.

Taikoo Cave, also known as "Taoyuan Secret Road", is about 3 kilometers long. There are winding corridors, steep canyons, deep underground rivers, spacious halls and colorful stalactites in the cave. According to legend, when Qin Shihuang burned books to bury Confucianism, a group of Confucian scholars in Xianyang fled to Youyang, isolated from the world and lived in seclusion.

The ancient city of Youzhou, which was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, was originally the Youyang Tusi Yamen. The ancient city you see now was rebuilt on the original basis. There are many inns and restaurants in the ancient city, and Tujia diaojiao buildings with different styles stand on both sides of Qingshiban Street. The grandeur of Youyang's 800-year-old state capital is faintly visible.

3. Jiangxi Lushan Peach Blossom Garden

The Peach Blossom Garden in Lushan Mountain is the longest canyon in Lushan Mountain. It is also called the Valley of King Kang, because King Kang of Chu escaped from the Qin Dynasty during the Warring States Period. It is located at the foot of the Great Hanyang Peak in Lushan Mountain, with a total length of 15 Li, and is known as "Xanadu". Here, the green hills are lush, the scenery is picturesque and the rural scenery is beautiful. Local experts believe that this is Tao Yuanming's Peach Blossom Garden.

There are not only beautiful scenery here, but also many cultural landscapes, including a large number of poems and stone carvings by famous artists such as Tao Yuanming, Ouyang Xiu, Su Shi and Huang Tingjian. In the east of the canyon, there is Tao Yuanming's former residence, and in the west of the canyon, there is Tao Yuanming's tomb. There are many places called Taohua in China, but this is the tomb of Tao Yuanming.

Four. Taohuayuan, Wuling Gorge, Zhushan, Hubei

The historical origin of Zhushan County also determines that it is also one of the hot spots of Tao Yuanming's Taohuayuan prose prototype, because it is Wuling County in history.

According to the Records of Geography of Hanshu, Wuling County, today's Zhushan County, was located here in the Qin Dynasty and belonged to Hanzhong County. The river where Zhushan was blocked used to be called Wuling River. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, when Tao Yuanming lived, only Zhushan was called "Wuling County" in China, because there was a certain basis for saying that Zhushan Peach Blossom Garden was located in Zhushan.

The Peach Blossom Garden in Wuling Gorge of Zhushan Mountain is located at the junction of guandu town, the eastern foot of Bashan Mountain and Qinling Mountain. It is called the first primitive canyon in Central China. Nature endows it with charming charm. The mountain peaks in the gorge are steep, and the virgin forest covers the sky. The forest coverage rate is over 95%. There are also large-scale caves, flying springs and waterfalls, and the ileum is spectacular and fascinating.

Peach Blossom Garden in Wuling Gorge is now a 5A-level eco-tourism area planned by the state. There are Lion Mountain, Canglong Cave, Luban Gorge, Xianren Cave, Dengtianmen, Queensburg and Migufeng in the scenic spot, and there are two ancient villages in the gorge.

Here, people live an isolated, simple and natural farming life. Some experts and scholars believe that this is the prototype of Tao Yuanming's prose "Peach Blossom Garden".

5. Taohuayuan, Chiling Village, yi county City, Anhui Province

Chiling Village is located in Biyang Town, Yixian County, only a dozen kilometers away from the famous Xidi and Hongcun villages. In the past, because of the arrival of Tao, Chiling Village was also called Tao Village.

According to historical records, the Tao family living here is a descendant of Tao Yuanming's second son, pottery. They moved here to thrive and lived here leisurely for thousands of years. Up to now, there are still a large number of historical and cultural sites in the village, such as Tao family tree, former residence, Tao ancestral grave, ancient post road and Tao ancestral hall.

Here, the scenery is beautiful and the environment is beautiful. Five clear streams pass through the village, and the ancient Huizhou village with white walls and tiles is hidden among ancient trees. Beautiful pond in fertile land, a genus of mulberry and bamboo, is a beautiful landscape picture, which is very consistent with the paradise in Tao Yuanming's Peach Blossom Garden, and is a vivid version of Taogong's Peach Blossom Garden.

6. Taohuayuan, neixiang county, Nanyang, Henan

Nanyang Peach Blossom Garden is located in the mountains of Yuping Mountain at the southern foot of Baotianman, surrounded by steep mountains, dense vegetation and good isolation. There is a basin with an area of nearly 100 mu at the top of Taohuayuan Mountain.

There are ten small families living here, with more than 30 people, who have lived here for generations. Due to the special geographical location, there was no official invasion in the dynasties, and the residents were simple and harmonious, and they did not close the door at night. This is a real paradise.

Taohuayuan Scenic Area consists of Taohuayuan, Taohuaxi and Taohuayuan. Enter Taohuayuan along Taohuaxi, with a depth of 3.5 kilometers, and you can see 18 scenic spots. Every March, the peach blossoms here are spectacular and rare.

Tianmen Waterfall, with a drop of 108m, is the only cliff waterfall in Nanyang.

Seven, Jiangsu Lianyungang Peach Blossom Garden

Lianyungang Taohuayuan is located in Sucheng Township, Lianyun District. Sucheng is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one side, with pleasant scenery. At that time, Tao Yuanming once said in the poem "Drinking": "I swam far away until the corner of the East China Sea".

According to local records, the "East Cape" here refers to Gaogong Island in Sucheng. Here, Tao Yuanming witnessed the scene of peach trees and fragrant grass near Gaogong Island, and wrote a beautiful poem "Peach Blossom Garden". There is also a legend that Wu Cheng'en got drunk in water curtain cave, Chuanshan, and conceived the Journey to the West.

Suzhou City is surrounded by mountains on three sides, facing the sea on one side and almost isolated from the outside world. There is only one road in Hukouling, which is a thousand-year-old road and the only way to enter Sucheng at that time. After climbing the mountain, Sucheng is at your feet, and the mountains set each other off. In spring, peach blossoms are in full bloom, which is beautiful.

There is also a small village called Tao An near Chuanshan Waterfall in Sucheng. According to legend, this is where Tao Yuanming lives.

Because the beautiful scenery of Sucheng is strikingly similar to the description in the Peach Blossom Garden, scholars in domestic literature and history circles and Lianyungang area, as well as many celebrities in previous dynasties, support that this is the Peach Blossom Garden described by Tao Yuanming.

Eight, Yunnan Bamei Peach Blossom Garden

Tao Yuanming's Peach Blossom Garden is fascinating. There is a realistic version of Peach Blossom Garden in Yunnan, which is Bamei Village, a small village called Xanadu.

The Zhuang language of "Eight Sisters" means "a hole in the forest". The scene here is similar to that described by Tao Yuanming. Entering the village requires taking a boat along the river and crossing a natural cave several kilometers long. Although there are no peach blossoms on both sides, the scenery is pleasant. Except for the hole, the scene in front of us is just like what Tao Yuanming wrote. The land is flat, houses are like, fertile fields, beautiful ponds and bamboo.

Bamei Village is a Zhuang village with only 100 households, surrounded by mountains and no roads. Because of the traffic barrier, Bamei Village has been isolated from the world since ancient times and rarely communicates with the outside world. Until the end of the last century, people in the village were still using ancient farming methods and customs, such as plowing, irrigation with ancient wooden waterwheels, planting cotton self-spinning cloth, and grinding rice and flour with water mills.

Today's small villages still maintain their former appearance, the environment is still beautiful and primitive, and traditional folk customs such as Dragon Boat Festival, ancestor worship, fishing, dragon tooth dance, glutinous rice festival and cockfighting, which have been followed for thousands of years, are still preserved.
