Environmental climate in Fukushima prefecture

There is Awujing Highland in the east and Aoyushan in the west in Fukushima Prefecture, and the two mountains are in the north-south direction, which divides Fukushima Prefecture into three regions: Zhongtong, Huijin and Tongbin. These three areas are not only different in topography, but also very different in climate, economy and culture.

Zhongtong area refers to the middle zone between Awujing Plateau and Aoyushan. Awujingchuan, which flows slowly from south to north, has formed a flat and fertile Koriyama basin and Fukushima basin in Zhongtong area. Because it is surrounded by mountains, the flat area in Zhongtong area is hot in summer, especially Fukushima, which is a famous hot summer place in Japan.

Huijin area is located between Aoyu Mountain Range and Yuehou Mountain Range in neighboring counties, with rolling mountains. In the north, there are Panti Mountain, the third largest lake in Japan-Gedai Lake, and a national park with Panti Mountain as the center. There are many lakes. In the southwest, there are the most natural characteristics of Japan, as well as the first peak in the northeast-Kawakami. Huijin area is hot in summer and has a lot of snow in winter, especially in the southwest, where the snow can reach about 4 meters. This is a famous heavy snow area.

Tong Bin is located in the eastern part of Awujing Plateau, along the Pacific Ocean, with a straight coastline of 160 km, where many rivers flowing eastward from Awujing Plateau into the Pacific Ocean form a flat land. Tong Bin faces the Pacific Ocean and has a typical maritime climate. In summer, the cool breeze blowing from the sea makes the area cooler, while in winter, the continuous dry and sunny weather makes the area warmer, with almost no snowfall.

The mountains and monsoons that run through Fukushima Prefecture bring unique terrain and climate to the county. 70% of Fukushima Prefecture is covered by forests, with an annual average temperature of 12.9 degrees Celsius, an annual average precipitation of 1066 mm and an annual average humidity of about 68%.
